Not just aimed at Poles but everyone in the community. I see more english chavs spitting on the streets than anyone else.

Spitting in the street is more of a Chinese thing, not Polish. Poles get physically close 2 u but they don't touch. It's truly a sad day when the relatively neutral BBC is telling adults BASIC etiquette. Let's assume the Poles are doing this. Then the police should be right on top of it if they see it. Touching others is assault without their consent.

The BBC arent saying that. They are reporting a news story and so are unbiased.

The basic manners pack is aimed at new immigrants in britain most of these immigrants are poles, what do you find so hard to understand ?

I like to touch strangers. Though sometimes they shout and I have to run very fast- not easy to do in a trenchcoat.

In any moment in the article it was said this was for poles. And if anyone did read the comments below you could see how people think how stupid this idea is.

My good lady is Romanian, and she is shocked to see young ladies drunk and being sick in the street as in Romania this would result in being ostracized from their community. Perhaps we should have a pack saying simply, "Do not do what you see in England, do what you know is right."

When I moved to the UK from the US, some practical information would have been helpful - how the UK financial system differs from others, how the house buying process works here, how to write a UK-style CV. But the information suggested above - don't spit in the street, don't litter, be sure your kids attend school - is utterly patronising and frankly would be better directed at some of the born-and-bred British.

Zion, don`t get me wrong, but you are married with a pole, aren`t you??? How can you just post nasty things about Poland and its people???

i would like to propose advice packs for the british and include:

1. don`t throw rubbish on the streets, use the provided bins and if you don`t see a bin, carry the rubbish with yourself until you see one.

2. when in pub/bar, drink moderately so that after leaving the pub/bar you don`t go around arguing loudly with everyone you see.

3. when using public transport, offer your seat to an elderly person or pregnant woman.

Incubus, are you available for public demonstrations? My area is particularly bad for all of the above haha.

The original advice pack seems to be a waste of time, I'm sure they could have provided more relevant and useful advice instead of common sense.

i think those `advice packs` should be sent to every household as the british should also be remembered how to `behave` sometimes :)
