I have read on this forum that many people dislike the Polish. That's not true at all. Yeah many people have the occasional whine if something goes wrong but I aswell as alot of people have always socialised with Poles. Before I moved up here, I lived in Nottingham and I was always out with Polish AND English nightclubbing, having a laugh, having a good time. I've been to a couple of England football matches at Old Trafford with a couple of Polish people in Nottingham and they had England shirts in their posession. The Polish that I have known do actually integrate. There are Polish aren't even intending on returning back to live in Poland. Some actually settle here. I have a met a few weird/strange ones, like one Polish guy that hated Polish people lol.

I also have to admit that when I started my 1st job up here the Polish didn't talk to us as much as they did in Nottingham and then after speaking to them they told me that alot of English people up North are , in his words, "racist" and treat them like crap. I myself have nothing against Polish and other Eastern Europeans. There are the odd few I dislike and find rude and even Anti-English but I recognise that it's in the minority. I'd rather have Eastern Europeans than Muslims coming into the UK.

Advice for Poles, go South. Don't go North as where I live up here foreigners are looked down on and looked at as "invaders." Down South and the Midlands you'll find many English friends. Good luck!

need I say that it is a civil liberty to park in your own street). I

No, I do not agree with you that it is a civil liberty to park wherever you want to at all. The raod is defined as the Queen's Highway and it is not in law a car park. We have a severe problem ourselves as across the street a Russian has bought a house and as he runs a building firm he has done all the work himself. All good to date, but now we have his huge white building van outside our house all the time and it is dangerous because as I try to drive out of my driveway I have no vision whatsoever and have nearly had two nasty accidents. I think he is quite right and if a Pole started to park outside my house I certainly would have a hell of a lot to say about it. In fact, it simply would not happen where I live. I will tell the Pole once and once only to move his car. End of story.

Hi Michal,
You could take out an injunction against him. You have a legitimate right to light.

This isn't the point, why couldn't he confront her instead of posting a sign and making comments that have really upset her? x

The trouble is, he is actually a really nice man and it would be a shame to fall out badly with him. However, it is a residential street and 'trading' should not take place although I imagine that is is a 'gray area' and hard to prove that he is running a business from home.

No - it was aimed at the general quality of debate on the Forum yesterday if the truth be known.

Some people are too childish to have a good debate with though, take everything personally and generally just start arguments and personal attacks. Such as Outspoken, who really lives up to his title x

Daisy, I'm sorry for any confusion but I didn't mean that I was included in this. I'm a bystander and stating what I've seen. Outspoken has been upsetting people and it is childish and that's what I meant. x

Theres a minority of Xenophobic Brits and a minority of whinging Poles. Each one feeds off the other as illustrated by the repetitive nature of the threads on this board.

Excellent observation - I think it sums up too much of these forums.

Daisy, how can you say that comment was not aimed at me?

I am reacting to two things:
1. The unfair title of this thread.
2. The ridiculous example given by Kohanie and her incompetent attempts to justify herself.

- Outspoken, when you stay here a little longer, you'll know the context. - There's an Orwellian piggy, having been given birth to at some commie pigsty in Poland but pretending to be a Polonophobic Englishman and thinking itself an expert on subjects relating to Poland and Poles. In spite of being strongly disapproved of by many, it trots back and keeps on playing its role over and over again, with a truly piggish adamance.

How is this not aimed at me?

An excellent advice Carla (provided the advised is a human being and can understand what you mean).

Yes, Carla, what do you mean?

The (humanitarian) advice Carla has given it is actually very funny.

Carla was talking to Michal...you asked Carla what did she mean...Puzzler explained to you why Carla had spoken to Michal

Is ti really that difficult to understand? perhaps you need a visit from Carla
