Hello

I should be going to visit my girlfriend and her family in May. I will not have to pay to stay out side of her and I traveling to see the sights.

How much money should I allow for spending per day for a 10-14 day trip.

HMMMMM. 500zl. a day average. If I'm on vacation i would bring more than that a day so I will know i have enough. Thats just me when I make a trip like that.

What is that in US?

My lodging is covered and I don't live on the expensive side. I will have a blank credit card with me also.

If you're not having to pay for your accommodation etc. then 500zl per day is more than enough. I could equally say 50zl a day is ok, you can eat and have a couple of beers on that. The reference to string was a hope that you might provide a few more details.

Sorry not familiar with that term.

I will be in the Zielona Gora area. Most of the time I will be staying with them. I will, however, also be interviewing for teaching positions. We might go to Gdansk to visit her apartment. Probably do some other sight seeing. I will probably fly into Berlin because its cheaper.

I am open to suggestions?

If you want to do tourist stuff, eat out, have a few beers, take taxis etc you could maybe look at 200zl per person per day. You might find you spend considerably less on some days, others a bit more. It all depends on what you want for your money.

I bring not with me zl at all.
(Maybe 200zl for transport to nearest city.)
Take some cash in dollar, euro or what's best for you.
Then visit 5 - 10 exchange offices and ask what they can give for the amount you have.
You can withdraw zl in all minibanks all over Poland if you have Visa, MasterCard or other international cash- or creditcards.

The amount mentioned (500zl a day) is VERY much, in my opinion ... Unless you going there just to use a lot of money.

OK thats great if you can spend only 50zl. a day. good luck. I'm speaking of 3 people 2 adults and a 17 yr. old.It costs to withdraw from ATM on both sides.

As I've tried to explain, it's all relative.

Just me, non drinker. No kids. If I can eat at the GF's most of the time I will be happy. However, I need to do something for them.

So, just you, non drinker, non smoker, no kids, not paying for accommodation or food... what do you see yourself spending money on?

Here's a tip - even though you're staying with the GF's family, you should take them out to dinner somewhere decent at least one night during the trip.

We are planning 12 days with small car rental and are budgeting $288/day.Been studying Poland for 4 weeks and this is what we came up with. Car=$60,hotel=$100,gas=$30,tickets=$30 and rest for meals($68). We plan on eating out in small country towns and stay in hotels away from tourist traps.
Hope this helps.

200 zlotys a day would be quite a lot. But the ¨how long is a piece of string?¨ question really is relevant... maybe you want to live like a king or a student we don´t know.

Bring plenty of cash though - try not to use your credit card or cashcard because your bank will rip you off.... only 5 or 10 percent but thats quite a lot really.
