Need help with polish girl - do you think she likes me?

Ok I'm 16 and Mexican and live in Chicago. So through my whole life i have had like 2 girlfriends. I am really shy and both girls came up to me and started to talk to me, that is the way i am, i let people talk to me first. I also would not call myself good looking because I'm a big guy about~280lb, but have been told by some of girls that I'm cute. So ...

There is a girl in one of my classes that I like and is Polish and can speak little english. So i started to notice her looking at me about a week ago. Yesterday while the whole class was reading silently i looked up and notice her looking at me and we locked eyes for like 5 sec. and i smile at her and she smile back and I quickly turn my eyes away. Looked up again later same thing happened but instead she quickly turned her eyes away. So then the bell rings and she quickly heads for the door.

Today while doing some work we locked eyes and and I smile and she smiles and out of nowhere she giggles. So a little later i start talking to her and her friend who translates.
And once in awhile locked eyes and smiled at each other, she sometimes giggling. So when the bell rang she said bye.

What I'm asking is do you think she likes me?
If so do you think she is just waiting for me to do the first move?
Do polish girls like the guy to make the first move?

oo and try and be just a little more open with people in general. I used to be quite shy myself, but if you're yourself and open with people, they'll either respond or they wont' and the ones who do. YEY You will make friends who'll stick by you through everything.
