I need Kaczynski's email address!!!!!!!!!

I am done!!

I love my heritage, but Ill be dam if I will sit back and hear all this crap and he is doing
nothing about it!!

Companies making women wear headbands during monthly!! diapers on women
Cashiers! its disgraceful, and unjustified.. theres nothing more humiliating!!

if it isnt hard enough for women to have children, raise this family, work, do all
the Drs Appts, run kids to school , prepare dinners, clean , press, etc etc etc!!

NO EXCUSES for this at all!!

Maybe if more of us American Polish start emailing our disgust, and there is something
he can do about it, maybe he will focus more on the problems at hand!!

Heck anyone American, Australian, Uk, throw out those emails, this has to stop.
imagine if your wife was to go to poland, and no experience . so she takes a job
as a cashier, would you want her wearing that? These companies, they need a good
Arse kicking! who ever manages.

I just cant believe this happens and is still happening !!!

I am so mad!! Where is their privacy rights????

I dont know about anyone else, but this is appalling!! if its a joke, please stop
if its true, please Lets stop it!!!!!!

Witek, I dont know what you find so funny, I know they are twins, was it the
facts laid out ?

Maybe its a joke to you, but it isnt to me. my polish sisters are suffering, and
you should be feeling the same.

People have to deal with such demeaning work conditions, its no wonder they
leave!!

I know their is much more that needs attention, but first and formost should be
ones secure livelyhood.

Patty...I thought this went on years...years ago. Where did you hear that this is gouing on now? I can't see this happening, and I've never witnessed it anywhere in Poland.

apparently, this is from 2004.

an extract from the article...

"Earlier this year, German supermarket chain Lidl demanded that women workers in its Czech Republic and Polish stores wear special headbands during their monthly periods. It said the move was to identify women who could take additional toilet breaks. The policy was abandoned after critical media coverage worldwide."

I am in no way pro-unionist, but companies like this must be kept in check.

Bronek, one of the posts, few days ago, Giles postes on the headband, and how
women are made to wear this at work ( I will look for the post) if you do a search
on Giles and all his posts, it shows up. think it was two days ago.

on another forum though, this was bought up and I cant even remember the
companys name, but they still did it. Maybe Fisz or Giles can remember, i am so
mad though, i cant even think straight. Degrading, demeaning, sickening.

I would slap any employer who asked me to do this. better yet, he better know
how to duck

if its no longer an issue, thats super! but think about it, 2004 is only 3 years ago
thats not a long time. companies can still be doing stupid crap we havent heard
yet for people fearing loss of employment!!

3 years isnt that long, if it was 20 years or so, I would say, ok, it was still demeaning
but someone did something, and they were caught.

I can tell you, a Law should be passed, companies try to get away with so much
even if it was 2004, and no longer a policy with companies, or that company, they
should have been used as an example for all the other companies and served
heavy fines for their unlawful practices of unfair labor and lack of Privacy which
every human being has a right to!!! man or woman!!

Shawn.........am afraid frequently you will only find its a union who takes on this company...I don't know if Lidl is another "union no-go" company, but if they are, its typical of the SH!T that they think they can get away with.........another place who sees their workers are pawns/moveable pieces of meat to use and abuse.

In Europe and its mostly socialist attitudes .......unions have played a major part in framing worker friendly laws and keepng the excesses of employers in check.......

So some middle ranking manager came up with an idea.......in a complete vacuum of thought, understanding, common sense and obeying the laws of the land/EU.

Thereby humiliates womanhood...........

Lidl....should hereby be boycotted....P19 I hope you are up for it!!

Agreed.

again, no human should be pushed to this kind of humilation or stress at a work
environment.

you know, seeing the geriatric suffer with this kind of humilation, and you cant
say words enough to them to comfort because its a sense of loss, your dignity

it was hard enough to watch my moms eyes fill with water because she lost
her ability to control it, my god, to even think an adult is made to wear them
so they can reduce the number of breaks.

Pat,
I actually have heard about it some time ago and you are right - it's not being advertised by anybody and it seems to be very prevelent in foreign owned supermarkets.

It was hard for me to believe too.

I dont know how you get one of those petitions going, I never did one, but i think
it would be a good thing to show them a law must be passed to protect these workers
if there is such a law already in place, then they need to crack down now!

form some type of undercover survelliance and see if they are letting workers take
breaks ( by hidden camera at the cashiers desks) .

those who are not following the law, shall pay some hefty huge fines and risk of
store closure..

I agree that the workers need a voice. But I have seen first hand how it can go too far. One only has to look at the state of the North American auto industry. Years ago, Henry Ford revolutionized the way cars were made, and as a result, the workers were made to work at a pace never before seen in industry. This resulted in the creation of the United Auto Workers. 90+ years on, GM / Ford and Chrysler have to add on about $2400 to the price of a car just to pay retiree benefits. This has made them extremely uncompetative compared to the likes of Toyota / Honda. The new domestics don't have the legacy costs of the big 3, and have a much more creative, flexible work force, while still maintaining worker dignity and a very good wage. The unions are now starting to realize that they are digging their own hole, and starting to make concessions on wages, benefits etc.

I would think that the idea must have been floated by some top executives if it were proposed to be implemented in more than one country... Bloody awful idea either way.

Patrycja,

instead of looking for problems in Poland and elsewhere why don't you Yanks first solve your own problems of violence, drugs and poverty.
