am afraid frequently you will only find its a union who takes on this company

I agree that unions will stand up to this type of human dignity issues. However, this should be looked at as part of a larger picture. National / International Labour laws should prevent this. However, it is also up to consumers like you and I to be aware of them as well. If consumers apply pressure on these types of companies, and not tolerate this behavior, that will cause them to change. Support good companies that treat people fairly.

unions have played a major part in framing worker friendly laws

I always thought its better to face the world with a cool head... then to get angry about it .

I really want to see your oneday in Poland now . Maybe you will bring your husband and children too! It will be great!

If you come... come for atleast 6 months... to soak up even a little of Poland into you. and dont stay in the cities only ...

As I mentioned... you have a bond with Poland...and you feel that very beautifully. I respect this bond from the depths of my heart!

Quoting: Patrycja19
regardless of what barriers

That is love isnt it?

Quoting: Patrycja19
But this is me, I accept me.

I accept you too .

Although... I think you might agree... that we all need to keep updating ourselves... and think from various angles. Only then we can realise...isnt it?... Otherwise, we remain away from the rest of humanity, locked inside the walls of what we want to see, feel and are habituated of seeing(being shown to us). And this can be worse... when we are living away...since a long time... away from the person we called mother!...

If we fail to remember and realise the one we feel as our mother ~ just because what we have been shown, seeing, dreaming or planning is different.... then we will remain in confusion... away from the real hug of that longing love.

Anyways ....

Your true care for Poland is a blessing!... Poland exist in the hearts of Poles... And all those Poles who feel that Poland is their home (whichever color they are...whichever race they belong to) .

Patrycja, so you're unable to tell what specific events you refer to, oh, so angrily, nor what the place and time of those alleged events were? You're just repeating some hearsay from some vague forum? What if the hearsay isn't true?

Maybe you've just made up the entire story, Patti?

You also are unable to tell why you are so eager to inform about that alleged outrageous event Mr Kaczynski?

So if, say, a Japanese company in US treats its American employess abusively e-mails should be directed to President Bush, Patti?

A year or more ago, there were media reports about some - if I remember correctly - Swiss company owner forcing Polish female employees (in Poland) to wear T-shirts with offensive statements on them, such as 'I'm dumb' (correct me if I'm not repeating it right).

Should the Polish President have been inundated with e-mails about it? Should he have been blamed for the incident?

Or maybe it's the Swiss, not Polish, authorities that should have been scolded for their citizen's antics?

What do you think, Patti?

PS. Should Polish women inundate Bush with e-mails about the often horrible treatment of female employees in America? Would you like them to 'help' you so, Patti?

I think Patty was referring to this:

union-network.org/Unisite/Sectors/Commerce/Multinationals/L idl_demanded_armbands.htm

I don't think Lech has anything to do with though. Maybe she thought it was stil;l
happening and felt the need to tell someone. So what. If it makes her feel better by speaking up, so be it.

what is your problem? u seem really violent , all I said was I dont feel like
re-posting. most people read the whole thread, if they dont they apologize
and say my mistake.

Giles Posted it ( the link) and so did Fisz, I am no expert on poland, I am learning
just like a good majority. least they had the decency to re-post it, and be casual
and nice about it. not flip out.

as for the truth, it would be nice to know it. according to the news, the headband
incident was true in 2004. the other incident was from another forum, and those
people who live in Uk and poland and various parts of europe also had said there
was certain companies who do this.

its not something you would see in the united states ( if there was, it would be
major media), never said all companies run great, wasnt putting poland down
last thing I would do, not in my blood to do that.

I agree.

unfortunately, some think just because of our president, we are like him, generalizing, and some of us arent, he represents us, but its not like we all want whats
going on to happen. people protest , congress protests. hes veto happy.

then soon as we say something, well your American what do you know???

but not all knock us, theres quite a few whom are very understanding and
never have said a bad thing. which, makes you realize that there are still
a great deal of good people who inhabit this earth. every country has its faults.

good that its old news.

but its true that they were made to do this. which still there needs to be some type
of laws put in place. whos to say another company wont come along and get wind
of this and try it again? is there policys?

we have some companies too which need attention, which are getting resolved,
but we have laws set forth. and so getting away with certain unfair practice here
attracts media attention.

well this site has become one big anti American website and it sucks

What made you think like that?

I've been here for sometime... and some posters have gone far. But regarding USA... I have found nothing Anti here! Except just a couple or more posts from some anonymus persons.

Here you come to know about Polish people, Polish views, Polish lifestyle... Yes, it is not fully representitive of Poland... but it seems a fairly free website where people can post their opinions. So if a Polish opinion comes out dissappointed of USA!... then this makes the website suck and Anti-American? Can you show where and how many times this website have been Anti-American?

Why not come in face to face with the world... the world does react on American policies. Because America is not just any other country... you should know what America is now...

Quoting: Patrycja19
I agree.

I DISAGREE that this site is Anti-American.

Quoting: Patrycja19
e think just because of our president, we are like him

That is your President...he is making the Policies... how do you expect people not to regard him anything else but as AMERICA itself!
This is the way the world operates... this is what you have chosen in democracy!

Quoting: Patrycja19
people protest , congress protests

I know, we see that in news. But also, the tone of the protest often looks so selfish! They protest and want their own troops back. How many times do these protests talk about the wrath of the Iraqi people.
They talk about body bags... OF USA TROOPS....why not Iraqis?

Because Americans will care for their own children and their own interests?... But America's position is not like that ... that is why they loose respect everyday... you must realise it.

Quoting: Patrycja19
every country has its faults.

Yes... is it true. But when the faults are put forward... they should we accepted and people should try to repair them. ACCEPTING ones fault is a crucial step towards reconstruction.

If the rich parents are too protective of her sons... powerful sons, killing and mugging around the town... then that doesnt make then super parents or a true family!... It just makes them ignorant and finally they loose respect. Then there remains no difference between the assailant and the person.

....

However... In Poland... such a factory/company, which have been so shameful...are not let go. This is not Poland! Poland is a respectful country... and we try our best to go ahead in life.

Our companies are trying their best to prove that Poland can become more prosperous. If they do wrong...I can assure you that Polish people will not sit defeated and tortured. We have never been like that!

You can always criticise... criticism is welcome. It helps thoughtful minds to bring out solutions.

2004, 2007, what's the difference. It's an embarrassment- more like from the dark days of Communism.

With thanks, Patrycja, for making this available.

Alright then... :)

Here it is (hope you all enjoy this):

Ms. Patrycja Lee

Dear Madame,

We confirm your letter from the date 20 of April 2007 for an address of the President of the Republic of Poland-Lech Kaczynski.

We inform that we know with the content. We want to explain that relationships between worker and the employer control are in a part of the ‘Rules of the job code’.

Organ to supervise and control of observing ‘The law of working’ is of the country inspector, in which, organizations of works, and the behavior to follow, is written in a country rule of inspecting works. To comply with the rules of that law, the range of behavior and country inspection of working, should act as a control for employers to observe the rules and principles of security, rules about relationships at work, paying for a work, and another, testifying about time at work, breaks, and about law - what workers can do and what they mustn’t do!

With Regards,

Malgorzata Wietchowska,

I wrote again to get a clearer picture.. it kinda tells basics :)

it was a response that counts for something.. I also write here to our
reps whom right now one working on credit card practices.. I think that they
rake you over the coals with some of this high Aprs or late fees.. everyone
can relate to this, they raise the rate the first time you are late and some
cards are at 21% or higher and how can one person pay off debt?

one of our reps is totally against this. the average American cant keep
debt cleared this way. stop unfair practice!!

Thinking of it, I think you do the right thing. If something bother's you, or is confusion, or is unconfortable, etc... you should raise a voice then! You should write...

People will say many things... negative or positive.... but what matters is that you didnt leave the stone unturned. It matters alot.
