In the case of the forum, which is most often like a conversation, one want's to know who is "speaking", hence my preference of having the Poster's info on the right.

You probably meant chat-rooms (not forums) which are more like a conversation.

Well, this layout does take some getting used to and it makes me dizzy. However, I also know that you can't be to fussy when you get stuff for free.

- Feb 2008 support: 4% of the monthly expenses
- Jan 2008 support: 2% of the monthly expenses
- Dec 2007 support: 22% of the monthly expenses
- Nov 2007 support: 6% of the monthly expenses
- Oct 2007 support: 26% of the monthly expenses

I'd hate to be the square who tows the company line, but when the layout change first appeared, I found it to be jarring and discombobulating, but after even a day of looking at it, I no longer notice it. I feel in a few days we'll all forget about it and move on. I wont say, I like it better than before, but it's not ruining my opinion of the site.

Not sure about the right sided layout either. Most people who post here come from backgrounds where reading is from left to right. The avatar is a sort of paragraph marker, making it easier to see where a new post starts.

Not a big thing really. And in fact it is comforting to see that the administrators must have a lot of time and money on their hands if they decided to implement silly and unexpected modifications like that.

Either way, it is an exchange of ideas or opinions It still is nice to know who is delivering the idea / opinion, before reading the post.

Indeed. I'm fairly new here, but I already know that I need to check that a post wasn't written by Michal before I bother to read it...
I use a fair few other message board type sites, and not once have I ever seen this right-sided layout anywhere else.

It's a half way move towards Arabic. Next the text will go right to left.

As a whinging pom/limey (delete as appropriate) it was inevitable that I would have a moan. Content is king though

Admin,

Don't touch anything. The name on the left is good.

I mean the new version.

Honestly no...I like the header on the left. It is unpleasant on the right.

This revised format is better. But the avatar and other stuff on the right side is still distracting to my eye. Remove the avatar and associated info, bury it in the member's profile and make the small name at the header into a linked thingy, where if you are interested, you can get to their profile.
