Seriously, it hurts my right eye a lot. To the point that I have to switch off from PF for a short while. It's a bit like having eye strain in one eye. No joking on this one :(

I really wasn't joking. I do suffer with Migraine and it is affecting my right eye. Just unfortunate really. But I am just one person and I know I wont be missed if I can't post so don't worry about it . I was merely replying to osiol.

But thank you Admin for your contribution.

Well, they say size is not important. And colour shouldn't be an issue either. But I'm very much bothered by red.

You must have seen a few changes over the last couple of years (nearly). How do the changes made over the last few days compare with previous changes?

To be more serious, red is not in keeping the the other colours used on the forum.
There is quite a nice blue that is used on every page that would be much better.

Actually, I would count them in dozens..
The colors you see is "live testing"; it may stay or may not, we'll see.

i am all up for changes to make the forum better, but how does switching make it better, i really don't see the point of workig unless you have to, but then again you are administrators :)

Secondly why does nobody get a say in the matter, its just done, without consultation or anything???

you've repeatidly ignored my questions maybe as they are forceful and a bit overloaded but don't just reply to the easy touches

To be honest all the changes up to now have been good ones.

The left/right thing is odd and I don't like it. But as we can see Admin is still experimenting. He did react to the in-your-face names, so there is still hope.

OK forum members. Please tell me which color is the very best in your opinion. As soon as you mutually agree, PM me with the name of the color. Thanks :)

i thougt you might at least reply with a constructive point, obviously the colour near the name is trivial but moving the whole info bar from left to right is a bit more of a serious issue as you can see from this topic.

how about a topic 'Members views on sidebar change' inside with 'we are planning on moving the sidebar from left to right' show a pic of what it would look like, then simply say 'vote yes or no' have it up for about a day or two and at the end use good old fashioned democracy to see if more people answered yes and no. Its better than using your Fidel Castro Communism tactics, which is kind of ironic considering how much the Poles hate communists :)

There are so many names of colours, and I don't know them all. There could be so many misunderstandings, I'll just post a sample picture of my favourite.

Nice blue!

Maybe it's the right color on Polish forum since it relates to the colors of the Polish national flag/emblem. Plus the same colors are on the index page and it doesn't seem to bother users. Most of the changes need some time to ripe.

Admin be reasonable. When a person who reads from the left to the right(like we do in the western world) reads a script,he needs to have the name of the writer on his left, not on the right, because his eye movement is always from the left to the right and if he sees the same name and avatar colour on the right all the time, when he focuses,he gets dizzy.I am sure most forum members get dizzy with the new system because they are normal readers, not extraordinary, reading from the right to the left.
Maybe for dyslexics it is the same but for normal readers, this new system is damage, gets you out of the forum, dizzy and bored without being able to concentrate on discussion.

If you go to forums from Middle East written in arabic they have this system with the names on the right because they read from the right to the left.
Is it so difficult to understand such a simple thing? We are not arabs here please and the forum language is not arabic.

The new layout is NOT something new or unique. Check Google groups or PHPBB - are they "insane" to have such layout too? They have new members and posters every day in spite of the "wrong" layout..

don't justify it by pointing to google groups or phpbb i was asking what caused you to change the layout not for other examples of forums that do it??

Google groups have the name on the left top as well.Ask anybody if he reads from the right to the left.
We don't need to focus on the nick on the person. Why looking at it at the end of every line from the left to the right?
Admin where do the painters put the objects they want you to pay attention to?Think a little.
They put them in the right side of the painting like you do with the nicks.

Pink Jewel are you dyslexic? This new way is painful for normal readers. It makes reading much slower and painful.
Only if sb wanted to throw out certain persons from the forum by making it painful to read would he do that.
If the admin wants to slower the response rate and reading capability to wipe out certain answers from certain users he has to confess.Otherwise it is nonsense.

There's enough info on the left to let you know who posted and at what time. All other info is on the left which is fine. I think the threads flow easier when you read them now and that if people still want to check out a profile or see how many posts someone has made, they can just look at the right.

No. I don't find it painful to read at all. In fact, I find it easier. I can still see who posted before reading each comment.

Bit paranoid to think Admin wants to throw anyone out by changing the format. He'd probably just suspend that person rather than go to the effort of changing the entire format.

It looks good. IMO

So you found 2 sites, still the majority of message boards have normal layout.
As far as I am concerned you failed to justify the switch.

Yes,but your eye focuses on the right where it stands the useless nick and avatar colour. The eye searches naturally for text and finds an avatar. He will never justify the switch. The reason in my opinion is to slower the response rate.It seems some complained about the effect of PF and attitudes of some persons.
To our testes whoever complained.Do you hear that?Whoever coward and sh1t eater complained that PF promotes nationalistic ideals can find his name on our testes.

Admin, any thoughts about the tasteful shade of blue I suggested?

How about this: each thread starts in the middle of the page, then subsequent posts work their way out in a big spiral, with the text in speech bubbles coming from posters avatars. All in pink, green and yellow with a mediaeval-style font?
