Winnie the Pooh is banned from being playground logo after councillors declare him a 'hermaphrodite' of 'dubious sexuality' in Poland
...'This is very disturbing but can you imagine! The author was over 60 and cut his [Pooh's] testicles off with a razor blade because he had a problem with his identity.

This is surely just a joke, or a malicious false story, planted by some nasty individual just to discredit Poland. Please, let it not be true. Please.

But all stuffed teddy bears are nude, aren't they? So, I don't understand why people think it's odd.

I think those councillors said these things with a wink. Or at least I hope so.

Truth is stranger than fiction sometimes. Have you seen the transcript of them discussing it?

Teacher: What did you do at the weekend, Johnny?
Little Johnny: I went to see my Nana.
Teacher: That's nice, Johnny, but "Nana" is a baby word, and you're a big boy now, so say "Grandma".

Little Johnny: I went to see my Grandma.
Teacher: Good. How did you get there?
Little Johnny: I went on the Choo Choo!
Teacher: That must have been very exciting, Johnny, but big boys say "train".
Little Johnny: I went to see my Grandma on the train.
Teacher: Good boy. Did you bring a book?
Little Johnny: Yep.
Teacher: Which one?
Little Johnny (thinks hard...): Winnie the Sh1t.

I think your image link there exceeded its bandwidth allowance!

The only hope left is it's all for a Polish version of Candid Camera or You've Been Framed.

That brings up lots of images, I don't know which you'd chosen. But I can guess what it might have looked like ;)

(I assumed the image you might have posted was blocked by the host of the image because they don't want it on another site.)

Its sad that an element of the English language media wants to bash Poland by insinuating that all of Poland is defined by an extremist element of Poland (from a small Polish town of less than a thousand people).

If they want to imply negative things to nations or groups of people by the unsophisticated elements of nations.....why don't they make a big deal about all the people from half of the world who are Third World nations who don't have plumbing and drink the same water they deficate in?

You forget (or perhaps just didn't realise) that the story first appeared in the Polish press. Perhaps you think that it shouldn't have ever been reported at all and those people should have just been left to wallow obscurely in their stupidity.

I'm sure you can find a few thousand or so articles from the past year alone about infrastructure in developing countries.
