Andrzej Lepper the controversial politician and farmers' leader has just got a two year sentence for his part in the Samoobrona sex scandal. Lyzwinski's got five years. It hasn't been suspended, and presumably he can appeal, but there's still a strong chance he'll have to serve time.

It hasn't reached the English-language media yet, but here's what they're saying in Poland:

2 lata i 3 miesiące bezwzględnego pozbawienia wolności - dla Andrzeja Leppera oraz 5 lat - dla Stanisława Łyżwińskiego. Takie wyroki zapadły w procesie ws. tzw. seksafery. Skazani będą się odwoływać.
To proces wymyślony przeciwko mnie - komentował na gorąco Andrzej Lepper. I dodał: - Dlaczego Krawczyk może wszystko. Ja i tak tę sprawę wygram. Żaden świadek nie potwierdził zeznać Krawczyk.

Promising a job to two women if they had sex with him. One poor lady had to sleep with both Lepper and Lyzwinski.

Yes. And then one of them wanted child maintainance from Lyzwinski, but the kid turned out not to be his.

To rip off a famous saying: As Lepper's star continues to fall, a person would have to have a heart of stone to not break out laughing.

Poland's former deputy prime minister Andrzej Lepper was sentenced to two years and three months in jail after being found guilty of demanding and accepting sexual favours from female members of his Self-Defence party. The district court in central Poland also sentenced former Self-Defence parliamentarian Stanislaw Lyzwinski to five years for rape and taking sexual advantage of female members of his party - a nationalist agrarian party known for its loud protests.
