It is time to start a thread about the leader of the biggest opposition party, PiS - Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński. His opinions and ideas uttered at press conferences, party meetings and in interviews are pearls, indeed.

He said today: The ruling party, PO - Civic Platform, and its leader, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, is morally and politically responsible for the former President`s, Lech Kaczyński`s, death in the plane catastrophe.

Who will dare to put him to rest? :):):)

Yesterday he suggested that Poland lost her sovereignty and is under German and Russian control.

Poland no ‘Russian-German condominium’ says Sikorski
10.09.2010 17:26
Poland ’s foreign minister, Radoslaw Sikorski (right) has sharply criticized opposition leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski for his latest outburst, describing Poland as a “Russian-German condominium”.
Minister Sikorski was referring to an interview granted to the right-wing Gazeta Polska daily by Kaczynski, the Law and Justice chairman, in which he used the description “Russian-German condominium” while speaking about Poland under the present government of Civic Platform and PM Donald Tusk, arguing that they are far too eager to bow down to the wants of Berlin and Moscow.
“I consider this a slanderous remark for our country”, Minister Sikorski said, adding that “Jaroslaw Kaczynski has lost his mind”.

What "wants" Poland is bowing down to???

What did Germany do this time.... :(

Germany allowed Steinbach to speak freely and discredit her country.... In my opinion Kaczyński and Steinbach act in a similar way - they feed on controvercy, lies and slander.

I like nuts at X-mas time, style at any other time.

Kaczynski is getting too much press, which luckily is going to lead to his demise.

Great idea indeed, there is a website with Berlusconi quotes, absolutely hilarious. Kaczynski's lunacy needs to be documented as well, he's got the potential for the best polish comedian ever (intended or not)

Actually he said they should leave politics no matter how much support they have. In other words he's officially denouncing democracy.

Considering the breathtaking speed at which he's descending into full blown insanity (how nice of him to do so in public where we can all enjoy the show), I wouldn't quote him except as a joke (or to signal that you too are losing you're mind).

Doesn't he know that the presidential election campaign is over and that he doesn't need to slander others? ;) ;) Enough propaganda, JK, and let's address what is.

Kaczyński is a real puzzle. Once regarded as a political animal and great strategist, he gained wide acceptance with his post-Smolensk nice-guy image which won him a spectacular 47% vote in the presidential election. But he immediately reverted to his former harsh rhetoric and PiS now has a backing of only 25-28%. Maybe his trauma has indeed caused something to snap. Or maybe he realises he can't win another election and has settled for an ‘après moi le déluge’ approach in desperation????

not because he was a political animal (he is not), but because he represented the feelings and doubts/anxieties of people after the Smolensk catastrophy

I should have said it differently pawian - what a difference does it make ? his opinions and ideas have no bearings whosoever on Poland imminent problems. He can do nothing - why everybody are listening to him? Would that make other politicians in Poland no-entities ?

democracy in present form sucks!

I don't know about it, but sure as hell that PO is ruling badly.

If you lived in Poland, you would realise what nonsense you are saying. He received the support of 8 million people during last presidential elections, and though he didn`t win, he was very close, what makes him a very important figure in Poland. He plays a great part in Poland, though it is very harmful.

Of course, you know the government which rules/ruled/will rule much better. :):):)

Plays a great part in Poland?? He is not in power so enacts nothing. Anyone can harp on about the issues of the day and that's just being part of an integrated/connected society. What makes him any different?

The press, jump on any remark or event of the opposition party. Why the press isn't watching hands of ruling party? that's their role !something seriously is amiss here and you are a fool for not seeing it!

Followers are followers. Hitler had many followers too ;) What is the man actually doing in terms of legislating and changing the country? Nothing because he isn't in power.
