Despite an ‘email bombing’ campaign, the ZNAK publishing company intends to go ahead with the publication in Poland of Golden Harvest, the latest work by controversial author Jan T. Gross, which alleges some Poles benefited materially from the fate of Jews during the Holocaust.
A campaign, launched by Anna and right wing journalist Andrzej Kołakowski began on 5 January after news that Golden Harvest would be published in Poland in February.
The protestors urge that people aggrieved by what they see as a book that is “defamatory” against the Polish nation bombard the email addresses of the ZNAK publishers, based in Krakow. ... Editor-in-chief at ZNAK, Jerzy Illg told the Gazeta Wyborcza daily that the emails have already started to arrive. “We have received a lot of protests, bizarrely from those who have not read the book and are not familiar with its contents”. And before anybody tries to say that these cretins are not anti-semites:
The authors of the protest email, however, say the that Golden Harvest is a good title, as “Not only Gross but the world‘s Jewish community are waiting for corn to become ripe in Poland so they can make a golden harvest,” referring the “tens of millions of dollars” Jews are demanding in restitution of property confiscated by the Nazis during WW II. http://www.thenews.pl/international/?id=147085
