Torq:
If Kaczyński had criticized RAŚ

And you think who did he criticize ? His own supporters from Silesia ?

Torq:
Stop the feckin paranoia, lads. In Kosovo

No one had expected such hostilities in Kosovo no more than 10 years earlier.

Well, if he had expressed himself in terms that didn't leave his intended meaning open to doubt, that defence might hold water. However, he didn't and it doesn't:

The Duck:
śląskość jest po prostu pewnym sposobem odcięcia się od polskości i przypuszczalnie przyjęciem po prostu zakamuflowanej opcji niemieckiej.

Is it really too much to hope that a senior politician with ambitions to lead his party to victory in the next elections express himself with a little more competence than he actually exhibits? Śląskość - a blanket term, doesn't specify whether it's the RAŚ worldwiew or the entire region's. Really, embarrassingly unprofessional of either him or his speechwriters.

Alex has already provided the quote. A disgrace. Kaczyński should hang his head down in shame
and apologize the Silesians. It's the least he can do.

First, check how many Albanians were there in Kosovo 10 years ago, then check how many Silesians
or Germans are there in Silesia today, and stop panicking (finally, just for fun, you can check how many
members does RAŚ have, and we can all laugh together).

I think the RAŚ is, at least partly, a result of post war distrust towards Silesians. There were reasons for them to feel second-class citizens. What you say seems like repeating this mistake.

Those I knew, the RAŚ supporters, felt treated like second-class Poles - and they expected to be in a similar, or even worse, situation in Germany. Thus autonomy, not separation. Interesting thing, many of their children didn't even speak Silesian..

No sweat, I'd say. And definitely antagonizing people in a mixed environment is a stupid thing to do.
