Too early to tell. No PiS candidate has a chance apart from Jaroslaw Kaczynski, and even then, if he announces his intention to run, PO will ensure that the election is held off as late as possible to ensure that he doesn't get as much as the sympathy vote as possible.

We may see the rise of a compromise candidate given that two out of the big three parties saw their candidates killed. It's not inconceivable that they may agree to allow someone politically neutral to stand - as it's obvious that this can't be fought like a traditional Polish (abusive) election.

Jaroslaw's not an idiot - if he does indeed run, he'll bury the nasty side of his character until after the election.

One thing to bear in mind - emotional people will turn out in droves to vote for the sympathetic character, whereas unemotional people may not bother. I'm already hearing people saying that they're not going to bother voting for Komorowski because it's a formality - when it's anything but.

The Poles will remember his nasty side anyway. He might get some extra points for sympathy for his brother, but he has no chance. Even Lech Kaczyński wasn't able to "warm" his image enough to get more, than some 25% of public support during his term, despite his trials. And Lech was the nice one of the two... If there had to be Kaczyński, it was the wrong one on the plane :-(

He is acting prime minister for now. Elections for new president will be held after 60 days.

If Komorowski is the "acting" PM, what is the PM Tusk doing?

The most probable date for the election – brought forward from the autumn after the death of President Lech Kaczynski last Saturday, is June 20.

Judging by how quickly he swiped those potentially damning documents, he's very much the acting President. Not just anybody can do that. On jest nudziarzem. He sums up the dull and spineless side of Poland. At least Kaczyński could bark a bit, though not always bite.

Now just wait a minute, I thought Tusk was a crypto-German whose daddy was Hitler's shoe shine boy. Now you're saying he's a Kremlin stooge? Is there any end to his traitorous ways? Next you'll be saying he's an American puppet.....

All of the above is true. In addition - Tusk is not his real name, he changed it.
His real name is Moshe Tuskenbaum (he had to change his name when his cover
as a North Korean spy was blown).

You don't know? The Russians and Germans are joining forcing to against Poland, and Tusk is the guy they support and that's why they murdered the president of Poland and other officials so that Tusk can control the whole goverment and allow the Russians and Germans to share Poland again, probably the Jews are involved too.

Am I right, Ola?? :-)

Of course! How could I forget the Jews?! Next thing, I'll forget the Masons and the Knights of Malta...

Now THAT's a lame-brain conspiracy theory...Germans and Jews have nothing to gain so much as others. Look to where the balance of power tilts--ALWAYS with the violent demise of many politicians, you have to consider means, motive, opportunity. Look at who has the most to gain, and the rest is eliminated--only 2 gain greatly.

CFR, Trilateral Commission Member to Replace Poland’s Kaczynski?

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
April 14, 2010

BusinessWeek reported yesterday that Andrzej Olechowski will enter a presidential race in Poland to replace Lech Kaczynski.

“The Polish Peasants’ Party, the junior partner in the governing coalition, will probably nominate its leader, Economy Minister Waldemar Pawlak, and Andrzej Olechowski, a former foreign minister and finance minister, will run as an independent,” it is reported.

Odds on Andrzej Olechowski. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. He was also an economist for the World Bank.

He also appears to work closely with the banksters: Olechowski sat on the supervisory boards of a number of European banks and corporations. Most notably he was on the advisory board of Goldman Sachs (see this biography on Olechowski’s personal home page; in Polish).

I am not saying Lech Kaczynski was killed in order for a one-worlder to take his place. I am saying that it is an opportunity for another bankster minion to rule a country that seemed to be at odds with the European Union and the one-world project.

Almost undoubtedly Komorowski. Tusk will find him easy to manipulate and will seek, once again, to curb the powers of that office. Expect Tusk to push him closer to Russia. Tusk knows the importance of this and BK will follow suit.

Tusk will surely learn from Russia, it is inevitable. There, the difference between PM and President is fuzzy and obfuscated. Tusk wants to reduce the powers of the President and I doubt that he sees that role in such a positive light now. What could Tusk do as President that he couldn't as PM, veto??

Tusk will likely see that being PM will allow him to sufficiently wield the forceps.

Look for Sikorski to move up, if not immediatley, then in the future...Of course, Roman Polanski's name has been kicked around, too.

Most probably Komorowski IMO.
Unless Cimoszewicz decides to run as a candidate of left or perhaps independent with some not-so-quiet support from SLD and other leftist parties. He's the guy who has the biggest chances in current political climate. Olechowski is maybe 5-10% IMO.
