Why are those people allowed to vote?

Buggered if I know.
Two questions. Are U.S. prisoners allowed to vote in U.S. elections? Are Poles in U.S. prisons allowed to vote in Polish elections?

i can't see why they shouldn't.

there are some who will leave prison and enter normal society (maybe soon). so there vote counts for their future.

and then there are some from normal society who voted and will enter prison (maybe today). do we take their vote away ?

it sort of strikes a balance.

The responsibilities of citizens includes respecting the principles of social coexistence. Those who reject their responsibilities should not be allowed to exercise their rights (and indeed do have their rights limited, which is one of the reasons that they are locked up!)

Only in two states out of fifty. The following is from Wikipedia:

Prisoner voting rights is a state issue, so the laws are different from state to state. Some states allow only individuals on probation and ex-felons to vote. Others allow individuals on parole, probation and ex-felons to vote. As of July 2007, fourteen states, eleven of them in the South, ban anyone with a felony conviction from voting for life, even after the person has served the sentence, while only two states, Maine and Vermont, allow incarcerated individuals to vote
