According to the recent Emnid poll, conducted between 21st and 23rd April,
of all the Germany's neighbours, Poland is the least liked by German citizens.

33% of people named Poland as the least liked (the second least liked neigbour
is the Czech Republic, but only 13% of Germans think so.)

Polish score among different age groups:

over 60 - 28% people dislike Poland
14 - 29 - 37%
40 - 49 - 41% (!!!)

Another interesting statistics: 56% of those who expressed their dislike towards Poland
don't know ANY Polish person and 58% of them have never been to Poland :)

The poll will be published in the August edition of "Reader's Digest".

...and the other way around?

Only 8 percent cheered for Germany (as you said) at the WC, now THAT hurt! :(

I don't know - the article doesn't say about that.

There were 32 teams, so the average support per team would be 3.125%, Germany
got 8% which equals 256 percent of average expected support! :)
That also means about 3 million people cheering for Germany - and what do we get?
41% dislike in the 40-49 age group (and 33% overall) :-(

Poland - the least liked German neighbour.

Serbs would sc*** Germany one day because of German cruelty on Polish children. Here in Serbia we heard what`s going on in Germany and what they doing to innocent Slavic children. Germany is real evil bastion!

It's not about children, Crow. It's about my hurt feelings! I drank a TIR load of
DAB beer, and cheered for Germany together with 3 million other Poles, and what
do I hear? I hear that every third German hates me - Torq!!! I think in August,
when I go to Berlin, I'm going to pretend I'm Turkish or something...

;)

Yes, it's always better to say that the glass is half-full (or even 66% full in that case) ;)

And you should keep in mind what for example the Bavarians have to say about the Prussians, the Ossis about the Wessis and vice versa and so on...so don't feel left out! :)

I'm surprised France didn't get a larger 'hate' vote.
Of course, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark wouldn't get many votes and Austria is 'German-light'. Did Switzerland receive a 'neutral' vote? No doublt WWII and it's aftermath influenced the German votes.

They probably read Crow's posts on this forum and are aware of the fact that Serbs
are actually Poles :) *or was it the other way around...*

I'm telling them all of it...I'm an evil-EU agent! Ha!

...oopsie...

PS: That isn't a "hate" vote but a "sympathy" vote and you can't give somebody a vote you don't know (or only by tantrums of politicians or prejudices). The poll shows that too:

...
As highlighted in the press release the survey authors, not all German Länder Poland at the forefront of the most negative rating niesympatycznego neighbor.

The worst is evaluated by the people far from the border on the Oder-Neisse line of the Land Baden-Württemberg.
The same is true of the Czechs, the least appreciated people of the western provinces, like Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.

Ossis would had given France and Austria surely worse votings, as most Bavarians will have voted for Austria and so on.

Those who have contact with each other evaluate each other better and more favourable...

We need to get these Germans and Poles together, visiting each others countries and promoting an open dialogue and mutual benefactorship. This way the countries can help one another and learn to appreciate each other.

In that case, we have to introduce the polonization of German children. This way, after
a couple of generations when Polish children are germanized and German children are
polonized, nobody would be able to tell the difference between a German and a Pole
and we will have no other choice but to merge into the largest, most populous and most
powerful European state (which would include Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and
Hungary too) :)

Poles and Germans would be good neighbors only when Germany become border region of Anglo-Germanic world and Poland leading power of Slavic Confederation.

The borders are open already...you can't people force!

I have a better idea:

Now that Poland has no national football team whatsoever and most good Poles play in the Bundesliga or even for the german Mannschaft anyhow we should build a common polish/german football team both countries can cheer on and wave flags for!
Imagine all the parties and auto corsos and hugging and back clapping and smooching after scoring and the common positive experiences in the stadiums - that should do alot for the polish-german communication and understanding! YUP! :):):)

Very well, Crow - we'll make Polish the official language. So, I understand that you're
giving up your Slavija dreams and officialy support the idea of Central European Empire?

As far as I know both German 'die Mannschaft' and Polish 'dru¿yna' are feminine :)

Ah, well - you can make up some German longword for it, something like...
