It was turned into a beautiful place by a lot of hard work by Jews during the past 130 or so years.

This country was not beautiful for the past many centuries.

I think after three crushing defeats and the thousands of lost lives and thousands of square miles of territory the Arab nations have absolutley understood a lesson or two about Israel or maybe it was three lessons :-))
