Then again, what could realistically have been expected?

An Leopard Roadster?

Seanus:
Poland's forte has never been cars.

Ever heard of Syrena Sport? One of the best sport cars designed in the 50's.

Or the CWS T-1 Torpedo in the 20's?

Or the PZIn¿ 403 Lux-Sport that would have been produced if i wasnt for the ww2.

HA.. that sounds good....

Give me a V8 any day...you can keep your electric motors....

Electric motors are for starting big V8 engines....

Nice car, David :)

Nah, you are where you are :)

Poland had to show its prowess as Russia unveiled a new model just 2 months ago, I believe.

I would like to see Poland produce a decent non high tech 4 x 4 that would sell well in Eastern Europe , something like the old 110 Landrover....

"We" already did.Not only 4x4 but 6x6.

in all honesty, technology has come so far that V8's are getting pretty obsolete. aside from the grumble grumble of the engine, they don't offer much else. These days, 4-cylinder engines are pumping out 300+ HP (Porsche has been doing it for years) and just about any 4-cylinder coupled with even a modest turbo charger gives you 200+ HP with gas mileage of 25 mpg or more. Ford, Chevy, Subaru, Mazda, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai....nearly every car manufacturer these days offers fast, relatively inexpensive cars in 4-cylinder without the gas guzzling characteristics of a V8.

Yes. And, overall efficiency is improved as well. All needed is turbocharger, and a small modification of exhaust system, particularly exhaust manifold which needs to be resistant to high temperature (high nickel alloy) which is expensive part of modification. (I had casted several such exhaust manifolds and machined some years ago. if anyone interested in, can do that again. if there is volume order. if not, if only a unit or two, i can make exhaust manifold with welded pipes made of chromium steel alloy. )

True, but I am still saving for Vette. This V8 offers great performance for not that much money and 2011 is very pretty.

Ok, I am not knowledgable about car models. but, know dyamics.
Looking at its picture in the first post, the nose design could be better from aerodynamic point of view. This nose may cause some air turbulence at the front and it may result in more fuel consumption. But, anyway, it seems that this will be in luxury car class which fuel consumption won't be minded by the owner.

$49,000 for the base model is "not much money"? Man, I'd love to be making your money.

The better bet in my opinion is the 2011 Camaro if you like Chevy and want the big V8. Their top of the line model is around $34,000, V8 engine, 426 HP in manual transmission. Or, you could go one step down, the Camaro 1SS, same V8 engine, same HP, just a few less bells and whistles, for $31,000. You still get the rumble of a V8 and if you ask me, the new Camaros are absolutely badass. Lots of people drive them down where I am and I love seeing them, really sharp looking car......and I'm not even a Chevy guy.

When I look at a Corvette, I simply can't stop thinking about either Barbie or middle aged men going through a midlife crisis. OH, that and gold chains and hairy chests.

The current Corvette is anything but a dog, and even with that V8 it can get up to 30 mpg on the freeway. It's an amazing car at a fraction of the price of most European supercars.

This is exactly what I am saying. You get Ferrari performance for a fraction of Ferrari price.Sure I would want a Ferrari better but a Vette is a bang for a buck.

Oh, they have. My first new car was a 1970 Camaro SS 350, a pretty fast car for its time. I had initially fallen in love with a 1965 Corvette convertible with a 327, but my beloved ex-wife said no. A year later a friend wanted to trade his 1967 fastback 427 Vette straight up for my Camaro, but again, wifey said no. In 1964, I found a red Ferrari 250 GT Lusso for $8000. I had the money. Wifey said it wasn't practical because by then we had three kids. Aaaargh! It would have been a second car, but she had no love for things like that.

And for a million other reasons she's now my ex. Thank God. Check out the price for a Lusso today. Oh well. That's life.

Sounds like my story...my ex girlfriend talked me out of buying a ferrari gtb....

a year later i saw the same car sold for twice what the dealer was asking for it....

prices went a bit daft after old Enzo died....

My favorite Ferrari is the 275GTB. Memories. I had a friend with a 1957 Corvette convertible which had a $1500 dollar custom candy apple red paint job. (This was in 1969 as I remember). He was a pretty talented mechanic and machinist, but one day while fiddling with his carbs he experienced a backfire through the carbs that burned a hole in the fiberglass hood (bonnet).

A few years later, when I was in the Marines, my best friend left for a six month deployment and told me not to let the battery go flat in his silver 1969 427 Vette ragtop. Believe me, I didn't. What an awesome car, except on one rainy night. I was on a two way four lane road through town when I came to a red light. Stopped next to me was a VW Beetle. When the light turned green, he chugged on ahead while I spun my tires in the wet, even though I had used no throttle while while letting the clutch engage.

Ah, the good old days of motoring. :)

And my first car was a 1959 Jag XK-150 drophead cabriolet. Don't get me started on Lucas electrics.

Even Polish electrics are better than Lucas...
