Poland's team seriously impressed their EU colleagues in accession negotiations.

Yeah, yah, yeah.Guess what mister, there are still some Poles who are not impressed with a pat on the back from a "westerner" so save this talk for POles (you know those young and "educated").

(you know those young and "educated").

You seem to be implying that you're neither.

jon I like you, so please stop lying. He was controversial in some circles and thats all.

I'd even go a bit further and say he was a laughing stock at home as well as abroad.

Poland's team seriously impressed their EU colleagues in accession negotiations. They punched well above their diplomatic weight at the time and earned a great deal of respect on all sides. Poland is not a yes-man.

Exactly - and he acquitted himself very well during the recent EU Presidency.

Komorowski has his weaknesses as well as strengths, howeve at long last Poland has something that it hasn't had before in the 3rd republic - a President with dignity.

So the PiS demographic.

Anyway - the President is for everyone who lives there, and since 1989 there hasn't been a better one.

a President with dignity.

President Bul-Komorowski:

During the December visit Bronislaw Komorowski in the United States , our president was badly hurt Barack Obama's wife . Admonishing the President of the United States to check fidelity of his wife, reportedly caused such distress Michelle Obama , that this does not want to see our head of state

According to " Our Daily " is the real reason why the wife of Barack Obama does not want to come to Polish . First embassy admitted that he has no idea why the first lady of the United States does not want to accompany her husband ( this also keeps it for himself ) . Later, there were rumors that the reason is the fear of Michelle before the volcanic ash from Iceland, and then said that it is about an exam daughters first pair of USA . Something a lot of these conflicting reports ...

not to mention his relaxed smiling face while receiving the bodies of Smoleńsk victims on Okęcie

I had a good laugh after reading the story about taking Queen Sylvia's glass of champagne! Well done, King Gustav of Sweden! So Komorowski is a real peasant (of those who "Żywią i Bronią i Piją Cudzy Szampan", I should think!).

Smiling, happy Komorowski over the coffins of Smoleńsk victims

Oh, come on Gumishu, people show the most idiotic reactions in the most terrifying moments. That's smile was directed to that woman, whoever she was, and lasted two seconds or so. The snapshot you have shown on the video is a typical propaganda production: let's keep that still smile for - how many, 9 seconds or so? - and then follow it by the rhetorical question "Do you want such president?".

You should know better than that, Gumishu.

I do not question the real gaffes, like the one with the champagne. But this appears to be one of our long tradition of diplomatic gaffes. See "The biggest gaffes of the Second Republic",

healing President and not a divisive

What a joke!
Two biggest accomplishments of this president: 1. support of anti-Polish movie 'In Darkness', 2. anti-constitutional law re. public gathering
And one more: quick signing of retirement age extension.

Regarding original question, the answer is: media manipulation.

That is truly pathetic! so people are not suppose to smile all of a sudden? Would you prefer him tearing his hair out an beating his chest with rosary in hand, as is the usual behavior of the PIS crowd(the Asiatic strand in Polish politic). ?

Yes I have-the cross before the palace crowd for instance. Poland is the crossroad of east and west, and sadly this type of "eastern" behavior, just like the behavior of booing when commemorating the Warsaw Uprising, is an example of the eastern strand of Polish politics typified by the behavior of PIS types. It is sad fact of Polish political life that I have been acclimatized to. Hopefully with time the more western Poland becomes the less evidenced will such behavior become. This observation of mine is well articulated by Andrzej Celinski:

imbecil "Bul".

I have no idea what you are talking about.

In contrast to the opinions of some, I think that any objective listener will find him to be a very engaging speaker and a very well informed one, as this clip in particular demonstrates-and all of it without notes:

I somehow remember harvest dances of Lech Kaczynski during the national mourning (Wujek-Śląsk mine)

An amateur in this matter, especially in comparision with that imbecil "Bul".

From the same genre as "bul", but in Kaczyński's rendition: "Witamy biskupa Rzyma", "Irasiad jest zmęczony" (Irasiad is tired) - after hearing "Ira siad!" (Ira sit!) command to a dog named Ira, or a limousine ride in the colors of Monaco.

Fair enough, those were just funny moments, nothing terribly wrong with that.

But what was not funny, only petty, narrow minded and embarrassing, was Lech Kaczynski's laughter at a press conference in Warsaw in reaction to Tusk's competent response in English to a visiting Condoleeza Rice. It was in turn a visible embarrassment to all who attended. Need memory refreshment? Here you go:

ehe-ehe-ehe

Then there were other moments, such as the "małpa w czerwonym"(*), paralyzing the work of several Polish ambassadors, whose nominations he himself had earlier signed, or giving in error the "Cross of Exiles to Siberia" to Wojciech Jaruzelski. But again, mistakes and blunders come with the office. (Kwaśniewski's "Philippine exotic disease" anyone?). But pettiness is not excusable.

(*)["Should we end the conference?" Lech Kaczynski answered: "one more question, but not from that monkey in red." It was about a journalist Inga Rosinska TVN24.]

or giving in error the "Cross of Exiles to Siberia" to Wojciech Jaruzelski.

looks very much like a sabotage to me

btw Tusk's English was not spontanous it was a carefully prepared performance and I excuse Kaczyński for laughing at Tusk I would laugh at Tusk myself in this situation

It was absolutely unnecessary in this situation and was done only to stress that Tusk can speak English, whereas clearly he cannot. All this silly games just show what kind of people they are.

No wonder that LK laughed, yet what have media done about all that bundle- focused on LK laughing as there were something wrong with it!

He was right laughing only people like Tusk refuse to grasp it - prependers and poseurs!
He made a total ass and jerk out of himself just to score few point in polls!

If this is a case - what's wrong with that? Many speakers prepare their speeches beforehand, reading them several times - in their own native language - to the mirror or to family members. Good for him if he employed a tutor just for that. At least he was not the embarrassment, Lech Kaczyński was.

Early on, during Solidarność days, Lech Kaczyński was given a chance to participate in an English language course, organized by BBC, but he cancelled his participation - explaining it by "the flood of activities and duties". Hence his "Inglisz raczej" in that video. You can see his letter here Polish Londoner.

I'd go as far as to say that pretty well all politicians do, especially when they reach high office.

By the way, the first lady, Dr Komorowska speaks English. With me only spoke Polish, however at the gathering where we met there were a number of dignitaries from the Arab world present and I heard her speaking English with reasonable ease.

I would vote for Kaczyński again, I am a hard PiS electorate but I am not catholic and I can see PiS weaknesses and deficiencies, but there no better option now

Also that pathetic scene when PM and Presidents dance in front of cameras grovelling to half-wits and retards for their support. There must be a better system out there.

C Rise must have been laughing as well.
I think there should be either president or premier in Poland, two heads of state are redundant, costly and ineffective!

Funny though that people with limited capabilities can perceive only half of the story ie JK laughter !
To be honest he should have been crying witnessing Tusk embarrassing performance. I guess he wasn't sure how to react seeing a naked debasement of his opponent !

This video has visibly been altered, music added, and pretty sure many he-he-he's added as well.
Anyway, if he did something wrong (and I don't support statements that Tusk was terrible, he was not),
was it reason enough to kill him (and 95 others)?

On the 2nd anniversary of Komorowski's presidency it turns out that he enjoys good politcial support (around 70%). Why do you think that is the case?

I dont even know who he is .. I am not intrested in politics .. I only know Kononowicz.
