A study designed to rank countries in terms of how aggressively they monitor their populations electronically, has placed the US as 6th and the UK as 5th on a global index.

The list would probably look different if the other countries could afford it too. No big deal to begin with.

I can tell you how "monitoring" can be done in the US, but I would be really interested to hear what kind of information is collected electronically in Poland.

Money is only worth what people currently value it at. If paper can be converted to valuable assets while people still believe in its worth...

Iran or Venezuela or Cuba

they are rather poor... well, Venezuela is making tons of money on oil, but it's not reinvested, just pocketed by the lucky few at the top. I would imagine they monitor people, just not electronically.

Call me paranoid, but I think US is is quietly gathering.. not doing much with that information as of yet, but as far as the sheer size of the data compiled, it might be much higher up on that list.

Yeah, Belarus in the 3rd is an economic superpower, far better off than the US. And so was GDR where the amount of monitoring by STASI was beyond belief.

No but in a dictatorship like that, they don't care how much it cost even if their people have to live in poverty. GDR was financed by the Soviets so it didn't matter then either.

Yes, a little. Thought they(UK, US&A) would be in top three.

Why? Their "position" or let's better call it "reputation" is very much based on the "information" we are getting presented by number 5 and 6 from the list above...

Here's an interesting link...

Watch the movie 'Das Leben der Anderen'. That's a realistic picture, but honestly the secret services or similar organizations are doing the same job right now too.

Poland is by far the most watched country in Europe when it comes to snooping on who you're calling...

Quite an interesting list...The US is rushing headlong into a police state, but it is being driven by the Federal government...Many individual states, and a large part of the population, of course, oppose all this data gathering and invasion of privacy.

These police state policies are driven by Washington/London/Tel Aviv, the most corrupt of 'Western' governments...North Korea is a dark ages state, China is a case of a totally corrupt elite encouraging accumulation of wealth in exchange for acceptance of the CCP as god...Russia may be trying to move in correct direction, but history of Bolshevik terror organs and mentality is entrenched...Singapore is classic case of Asian NWO.

USA is currently trying to discourage freedom of movement by citizens (air travel) by the introduction of 'nekked body scanners' at airports, monitored by TSA monkeys/robots...This is an especially perverse form of data gathering surveillance, and if a passenger decides not to go along with this, he will be physically searched in front of other passengers, by these TSAs who will put their hands on genitals of men, women and children...This behavior would cause arrest and imprisonment anywhere else, but is OK when backed by Federal government.

It is very difficult to understand these policies, as even the airlines are voicing strong opposition...But, when looking at big picture, this is being done because the globalist economy is crashing, so they take the most thickheaded and perverse of the lower class, and give them a 'police' uniform, and a government subsidized paycheck, with the permission to be rats.

There is way too many police's cameras on the streets lately. Whenever I am passing one, I feel a spike of anger. I am being spied upon... If any political party promises removal of this stuff, they'll get my vote. Whatever else their's plans are.
