What are you talking about??? I NEVER SAID POLISH PEOPLE ARE BAD OR THAT BAD THINGS COME FROM POLAND. I never said that or implied that.

Dr Koprowski claims to be Polish, even though he lives in America. I have nothing against Polish people, okay?!?!?!?! The documentary is about how they (scientists) don't want to reveal the truth. Imagine what a scandal it would be if they owned up to their actions?

AIDS seems to be one of them :) Anyway, where did she work, TRUTH? Because if she didn't work in Fort Detrick, Maryland, she wasn't a part of the process. Did American govt officials buy her services because I can tell you that she didn't discover it on her own initiative?

This is one of those things about people I find interesting...especially Poles since there is such an ego issue with that culture. If someone had said a Polish scientist created a cure for cancer the Poles would be on here defending the rumor and talking about how great Poles are....but since it is a negative rumor people immediately argue against it. It shows how much egos and pride affect people.

Poles love to take credit for everything but when anyone says something negative they deny it like their life depended on it. I am not saying there is anything to the AIDS comment but the trend holds true.

Agreed all people do this to a degree...but Poles are the worst about it. I would rank them right up with Russian and most Arab cultures. I base this on living and traveling all over before someone calls me a Pole hater. It is one of the things that drove me nuts about living there. Hearing people brag and take credit for everything under the sun but god forbid anyone questioned them or didn't agree Poland was the cradle of civilization. Worse yet they all seemed to be experts on the USA and critical of our lifestyle yet they had never been.

I have noticed that the less powerful a nation or culture is the more they like to bluster. I really don't get the ego stuff.

Nika is right, Beel. I can say that the Scots didn't invent Dolly the Sheep, 2 Englishmen did. Overly patriotic Scots would say that they invented it because it was achieved by the use of facilities in Edinburgh. I haven't read the book the OP mentioned but in all my reading on this point, there has been no suggestion of Polish involvement.

I made it clear I wasn't saying Poles invented AIDS. I said it goes to show how vehemently people (Poles more so than most in my view) are defensive to anything that doesn't proclaim their greatness. The ego runs larger there.
