WARSAW, Oct 19 (Reuters) - An unknown assailant killed two assistants to lawmakers from Poland's main opposition party, the conservative Law and Justice (PiS), in the party's office in the central city of Lodz on Tuesday, police said.

There were conflicting reports of how the man killed his victims and there was no immediate word on his motives.

"The killer was immediately captured by the police and is now being taken for interrogation,"

Sounds like someone has Platforma on the brain. Trust me, PO supporters don't have to do anything to eliminate PiS from politics - and they certainly don't have to resort to such measures.

It's more likely that it's the work of a deranged lunatic. Given his age, it would hardly be a surprise if he was ex-PZPR.

I would like to see Liga Polskich Rodzin became a more popular political party in Poland. Their platform agrees with traditional Polish values, and is anti-EU in its nature.

This is either the work of a) a mentally unbalanced madman acting on his own or b) a despicable and evil person acting on his own

One might hope that this would be a clue to tone down the rhetoric, let's see what some politicians from PiS have to say:

"Tusk is responsible"

"PO is responsible for this death"

"The killing of the opposition has begun in Poland"

Sigh.

Look, this is a horrible thing to happen and I'm sorry the guy was killed and I hope the scum that killed him is locked up and never sees daylight again. But Polish politics is really entering the twilight zone now. Let's have some sanity for a change and stop trying to milk the unfortunate deaths of politicians for public support. It's gruesome.

These were legal aides, with families.

They were direct supporters of the crooked regime.Every active supporter of the clique needs to be put for life in the heavy labour camp if not against the wall...

You're right. We should have put all you ******* commies against the wall in 1989, and Poland wouldn't have any problem whatsoever today.

haha.. What has it come to, that the guys who did most in Solidarnosc, and were the most straight edge, are potrayed as evil, while ******** secret service agents like Walesa are still seen as heroes.

Traditional Polish values like racism, homophobia and general narrow mindedness?

Anti-EU? Well, I'm sure Poles just cannot wait to go back to the days of being poor, with a crumbling infrastructure and absolutely no money to improve it.

Ah, typical Kaczynski supporter, seeing Communists everywhere. Here's a hint : Communism is dead. It's not coming back.

Ah yes, that would be why your favourite RCC hired ex-SB guys to commit fraud on their behalf, right?

Anyway, what did Jaroslaw Kaczynski do in Solidarnosc? Errr...nothing!

I'm not even a PiS supporter, but frankly, I would pick them over PO anyday... Any party with less commies is a better party in my eyes.

But no lard@ss, I won't even share my political views with a primitive creep like you.

What communists? I don't see any, apart from the imagined ones that Jarek dreams about.

Anyway, PiS is led by the son of a Communist traitor.

Michnik isn't the head of PiS, is he? His dad was a Comintern agent out to subvert pre-war independent Poland and turn it into the 17th Soviet republic.

Michnik

-Runs in the family

His half brother, Stefan Michnik, was a judge in the 1950s, during the period of Stalinism and currently resides in Sweden. He publicly admitted passing death sentences on Polish anti-communist resistance fighters, such as major Zefiryn Machalla

Michnik has nothing to do with the fact that Jaroslaw Kaczynski's father was a traitor.

Anyway, Michnik was jailed without trial for a few years. Kaczynski was never jailed - indeed, he enjoyed the protection of his traitorous father who turned his back on his AK allies. Must admit, it's very odd that you choose to attack someone who was jailed, while defending someone who was actively sheltered by a traitor to Poland.

You lot really are rather obsessed with Michnik though - is it because he was a patriot during Communism, while Jaroslaw was too busy not being active in Solidarity?

If Michnik was against communism how is it that he has always been soft communists, never publcily denoucned his traitor dad hobnobbed with Popiełuszko killers Jaruzel & Kiszczak as well as Urban whose artuicle inspired the murder? He consistently opposed any form of decommunisation or justice for victims of communism and provided the media smokescreen needed for ex-SB thugs to worm their way into the state adminmistration, industry, banking and privatisation system. Most of his Gazeta Wybiórcza mates came from good, atheist, commie families like his own. Birds of a feather..... And what about him calling the first Polish offcier in NATO, Col. Ryszard Kukliński, a traitor whilst extolling Soviet agent Jaruzel as a patriot....
BTW, Lech Kaczyński was jailed under martial law. Jarosław wasn't bercause the Jatruzel scum let one of the twins roam at liberty so they could follow him. Jarek personally told me as much about 5 years ago.

Would that be the same way that ex-SB thugs are working for the Church as well?

Lech was interned briefly, but Jarek? He wasn't even there to be jailed - he's a coward who only entered politics after the Communists went away. Anyway, he was too busy enjoying the fruits of his father's traitorism during Communism to want to fight them - after all, just how did an ex-AK solider get his children on TV, get them a nice education and enjoy quite a nice life?

Jarek has tried, quite consciously, to present himself as someone who was there all along. But he's not mentioned in any of the history books, he wasn't at the Round Table - so...where was he? That's right, he was too busy being the son of the worst kind of traitor.

Anyway, Michnik spent several years in jail. Jaroslaw Kaczynski spent none. I know who the bigger patriot is.
