Anyway, I guess Lech Kaczyński wouldn't be too sad if he knew that Agent Bolek
didn't attend his funeral, and Agent Bolek had enough decency not to show up.

That sums it up nicely.

Big respect to Saakaszvili.

The "normal" hatred is back? I hoped it will be better for longer but unfortunately i was wrong.

Lech Kaczynski would not be sad coz of Walesa but certainly he would be sad seeing all the arguments and hate

Interesting that the President of Kosovo did make it but the president of Serbia couldn't be bothered to show up. I wonder what Crow will have to say about that.

Interesting, he showed that this "ash" danger wasn't a danger at all? Shame to Obama and others in this case. Rising some stupid questions also.

He just showed that he is ok with risking own life and lives of other people for some funeral. That's all.

Yes, because if anything, Kaczynski hated provocation and arguments...

I apologize on behalf of America for Obama not coming. I don't understand why he didn't. Many Americans are fed up with Obama not doing anything.

What’s with the US flying the dead, it’s the second time I’m reading this remark from you. Correct me if I’m wrong but the plane in question is not a US property although US has its share in it. It was bought by many countries and operates within NATO. It’s like a timeshare deal, owned by many nations and US being simply a partner in that deal. Each country that owns the share is entitled to operate the plane for its own purpose and entitled to so many flying hours. During that time the plane carries the insignia of the country operating it at the moment. Poland paid in part for that plane contributed two pilots and one navigator to its operations not to mention the ground support personnel and this year we still have 150 flight hours left to use the way we see fit. In case you missed the video when it flew in to Warsaw it had Polish checkered board on its tail, go check the video. Don’t try to make it sound like you do us a favor when in fact you’re just a part owner. Being a timeshare holder you stand in line to use it as everyone else. This mission was not flown on your dime, so there’s no need to thank you period.

The entire crew was a USAF crew from Dover for that flight. You're right about the planes being part of NATO HAW.

Would you want them to attend either of the brothers' funerals unless they absolutely had to? Lech Kaczyński was no Lech Wałesa. But then again, both countries sent their ambassadors and one of those two countries is in the later stages of a complicated election.

And just a side note, the colors and the roundel on the plane are Hungarian. That doesn't change, as they are always based out of Papa. Most flights are done with mixed crews. It's not only equipment sharing, it's cross training the crews. I met a Norwegian who was doing training in a T6 who was learning to fly with American crews for HAW at Altus AFB.

Regardless, in terms how it’s structured it works like this; SAC nations estimated their annual requirements in terms of flight hours including support to NATO, EU, and the UN. HAW aircrew, regardless of nationality, will fly all types of HAW missions, regardless of the SAC nation requesting the mission, so in fact it was not even at the discretion of US personnel to fly this particular mission but their duty as a signatory country participating in the SAC. Poland simply used part of its shared flight hours and US air crew who happened to be on duty at the time are simply hired hand. Yes I might thank them individually but US deserves neither thanks nor credit. You did not pay for this mission nor volunteered your services or equipment; another words you did not do anything other than what’s required of you, you were simply doing what’s in the contract. If it was the Polish crew flying the mission for US would we be taking all the credit and pretend to do you a favor? Don’t be ridicules.

Wait, so no thank you from Poland? What an ungrateful country... First to b*tch, last to thank...

OK. Now, concentrate - the title of this thread is "The Prime Ministers and Presidents
who attended the funeral of Lech Kaczynski
".

I will spell it for you again, just in case you still missed it: P-R-I-M-E M-I-N-I-S-T-E-R-S
and P-R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T-S W-H-O A-T-T-E-N-D-E-D T-H-E F-U-N-E-R-A-L O-F L-E-C-H
K-A-C-Z-Y-N-S-K-I.

The thread doesn't even mention the delegations of countries who sent lower rank
representatives, so if you want to moan and ***** about nobody thanking your air
force, then please do it in some other thread.

There is an agreement in place for allocating flight hours. In fact, the USAF scrapped two days worth of missions to make the flight.

Especially for you, Torq: the Tulip that was named after Maria Kaczynska two years ago, the -surprisingly-"Maria Kaczynska". It was placed near her coffin.

Would've put just pictures in here, but it wouldn't let me.

Please do not appologize on behalf of all Americans. I disagree with his policies 95% of the time but I think the decision not to attend was very logical.

I'm glad other dignitaries made it in. A funeral a week or so later would've brought in many, many more presidents and prime ministers.

In fact the mission was reprioritized and it still will be done sometime in the near future, this sort of thing happens all the time not just in a military world but believe it or not it also happens in the civilian world. As a co-owner, Poland requested the use of the plane during the time of her need and was granted this request by all other co-owners of the plane even if it meant a change of rotation or slight inconvenience without any objection or demand for some special recognition for such decision. Only Americans seem to think that doing a decent thing warrants eternal gratitude, that they deserve something special, that world owes them simply for giving up their turn in rotation or someone else’s turn and because of that decision they will experience a slight inconvenience. No other nation stipulated a terms for granting this request, had no objections and does not badger us about it. Just because it was an American crew that flew this particular mission they must have done something extraordinary, something John Wane or Rambo sort of thing and once again in a true Hollywood style saved the day once again. I give up my seat all the time, I hold the doors open for people simply because it’s a decent thing to do especially when someone has his hands full, and I have no need for special recognition or gratitude, on a contrary it makes me feel good about myself, perhaps you should try it instead of acting like spoiled brat. “World owes us” – indeed.

EDIT: Simply for helping out a friend in need I would never demand a payment or gratitude. You might be a decent chap so don’t take it personally it’s just my opinion.

Good for you, maybe you should read up on the context of a post before rendering an opinion. The entire post is in referece to Torqs comment about "knowing who our friends are". I thought it was a dickish comment. I could care less about getting a thank you out of it, I didn't even do anything, I don't need a thank you. But to say that you know who your friends are based on who attended the funeral, and implied that those not showing up were snubbing Poland, it was uncalled for. There is a difference between just saying thank you, and making a comment like that. I just wanted to make sure that Torq realized that the USAF helped out in Polands time of need. I guess if that's a snub, than so be it. Strange place.

OK - now, please show me, where in this thread did I write anything about "knowing
who our friends are
" or "implied that those not showing up snubbed Poland".
Where did I make "a comment like that"?

It only takes one look at the first post in this thread to see that apart from thanking
those friends of Poland who showed up at the funeral (Presidents and Prime Ministers)
I wrote...

Torq:
Thank you very much, friends. Poland will remember that you were here
to say the last farewell to our President. Nothing's forgotten!

...nothing more, nothing less. I didn't even mention with a single word those who didn't
come to the funeral.

Whether American (or any other) delegation "snubbed" Poland or not, by using
the ash cloud as a convenient excuse not to attend the funeral is a different
matter. This thread is to say thank you to those who said their last farewell
to our late President.
