Seanus: He is just a leech of taxpayers money.

Honestly I don't know much about the English royal family and this thread got me a little curious so I googled that particular point, I have no idea of it's accuracy but I got this :
The real truth is that the money that they personally pay in taxes (even the Queen pays taxes now) is greater than the money they receive from the civil list and further that the money the government receives from taxation on tourist income is even greater than that.

From here: Do the British citizens' taxes pay for the royal family's living expenses?

Seanus: I wonder what he has on his CV

"Soon to be king i.e. you are soon to be my subject"

Actually I would love to have that on my CV :)

I would doubt the accuracy of that, Seanny.

He inherited everything, what jobs has he had?

The way I look at the royals is like a beehive or an ant hill. The queen is more of a prisoner of the people than almighty ruler. Anything they do gets manipulated and the paparazzi have a field day almost every day.

I think you are asking; what did he do to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth?, but you know yourself, in comparison to millions of people on this earth, we are born with silver spoons because we can read, write, have a computer and therefore have electricity, have running clean water, food in the fridge, a roof over our heads etc... All the things that I sometimes take for granted.

So I don't know should he feel guilty about that? should we? I don't think so but then again my attitude might change if I was not in this position, know what I mean?

Well, If the discussion is diverted and we can discuss The British Royal Family :) I must say that I don't care much about them, not that I have something against them or disapprove they lifestyle or privileges. If anything I've nothing against monarchy.
There is that thingy, I don't see them as a proper monarchy, for starters they have no say about the country affairs, secondly they were brought from Germany.
Seems to me that ruling class (at last those in charge) in Britain were importing German princelings for reasons of their own, I guess it had to have something to do with power, politics and religion :)
So, Saxon-Co-Go company agreed to play their role, I wonder what's their role is nowadays!

All that because Lord Protector didn't become king himself.

Well, certainly not pulling lobsters out of Jane Mansfield's arse (anyone remember Derek & Clive?).

Seriously, I'd prefer him as a (distant!!) neighbour than Michael Jackson's planned theme park; but hey, these reptilians get everywhere.

He's pretty much harmless for the most part. He is propped up but he doesn't have grandiose visions for the world and he is but one man who values traditions and priveleges.

He enjoys the games up in Braemar and then retires to Deeside which is a beautiful area of Scotland, not far from my home city.

Not nearly enough to bring the change they want about. They have to keep campaigning but I think they are just flogging a deadhorse. It's no more than a pipedream for some.

Going...going... gone! Prince Charles of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, a prospective monarch [so they say], has finally decided to buy a stately home in Poland. His choice is the one in Ścinawka Górna in the commune Radków in Lower Silesia. This stately home was bulit in the 16th century and belonged to von Gotzen family. The home needs to be restored and renovated. The transaction price has not [yet] been disclosed.

It remains obsure, however, whether the Prince will ever be able to learn how to pronounce the name 'Ścinawka' properly. Sources say he might possibly turn to its past German name in order to say it aloud. He might also try to conceive a new, truly British name, to make it sound more "civilised" and deserving His Highness' efforts to name it.

Nice neigbourhood. Góry Stołowe and Góry Sowie are just beautiful.

Some reliable source, Ziemowit?

First of all, the autonomy movement is Upper Silesia, while Charles wants a house in Lower Silesia. Something completely different. And he doesn't want to buy a house because he isn't satisfied with the 30+ houses he already owns but because he is deeply involved in efforts to preserve cultural heritage. He wants to advise the public of the situation of the stately homes especially in Lower Silesia, which are mostly in a very bad shape.

It's none of our business to know where he's got the money from. I'm inclined to think that if the British government refuses to pay for a one more castle of his, then he turns to his mother, the mother summons the Prime Minister ... and, despite the current financial crisis, the Prince gets it!

It is a backward system in a country that claims to be so forward.

I really get so annoyed by this monkey-faced man called Prince Charles. SORRY TO SAY.

I also feel it very funny that so much noise is raised with the marriage and peeing or pooping of any of their ROYALTY ... :D

Royal whatever!

It doesn'tclaim to be forward - it is forward, and has a particularly stable form of government with no real popular support for changing it.

The 'noise' isn't raised by them, and the millions round the world who follow royal weddings, funerals etc do so by choice.

He didn't need that much money. There are two castles in the village, one from the 16th century and one from the 18th century. The more valuable one from the 16th century is in a bad state, the younger summer palace is better preserved.
According to Ziemowit he wants to buy the Renaissance castle, which looks like this today:

castle

castle

You can see more of it here:
http://www.wroclaw.hydral.com.pl/test.php?obiekt=21343&start=0&tend=20

He probably doesn't have to pay a lot for it, one of his trusts will restore the castle, and he obviously wants to use his name to raise awareness for this forgotten region.
And btw., Charles interest was sparked by a English book called "Silesia: The Land of Dying Country Houses"
