What would you say in response to POLAND?

A treasure trove for psychiatric investigation.

If I say Poland you say...?

I say many things: from Stanislaw Lem (the first SF writer I read), to Boleslaw Prus, to Sienkiewicz, to Pope Joan Paul IInd, Wiszlawa Szymborska (don't think I've spelled the name right) to Adam Malysz and to me coming with an Erasmus to see Poland and learn Polish :D.

"If I say Poland you say...?"

I say:
freedom, humanity, belief, following tradition, idealism, dignity; values in general

respect for older people... we often forget about it

proud and a shame (in one - weird complilation); passionate minds and narrow horizons on the other hand

underestimated, often in their homeland, genial and heroic people who have ability to change course of events and history

exceptional personalities: pope John Paul II, cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, Lech Wałęsa, Leszek Kołakowski - a great philosopher, Tadeusz Różewicz, Zbigniew Herbert - poets, Janusz Głowacki - a director and multitude of others

wonderful theater and amazing, brilliant actors (Anna Dymna, Krystyna Janda, Aleksandra ¦l±ska, Gustaw Holoubek, Tadeusz Łomnicki, Andrzej Seweryn, Daniel Olbrychski, Olgierd Łukaszewicz, Aleksander Bardini, - impossible to call all of them...

and plenty other valuable people, events and things...

Now, Southern, there's no need to bring your mother into discussion.
