In Poland the average birth rate between the years 2003-2009 rose from 1.22 to 1.40, according to data from the European Union's statistics office, Eurostat, cited by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.

According to experts, this is due to a growing trend among women over the age of 30 to sacrifice their careers and raise a family instead.

That's soooo last decade.

I am just glad they are not praying mantises where the male's head is sacrificed after intercourse.

Merged: Europe's demographic problems is something for Poland to consider

Although this article doesn't talk about Poland, this article is relevant to Poland being a fellow European country. I feel Poland should try to improve its demographics and increase its ethnic Polish population if it hopes to have a good future.

Should continue to rise. Weird how the undesirable (ugly) peoples of this planet have a lot of kids.

1.4 thats it?! It needs to be way higher.

As it stands 'white man' is dying because of the low birthrates in Europe.

It seems that we are even more patriotic in Great Britain:

The problem is the same all over Europe.

The economical equation will break within 20-30 years, if people do not start to make more children.

birth rate will always be a huge issue in socialized countries.

even with a birthrate of 1.4, the actual number of Poles being born and going on to enter the work force and working for a lifetime in Poland, therefore paying into the socialized system.....is far less. there's emmigration, death, disabilities that prevent someone from working, people simply NOT working.....

gotta keep popping out kids and a country's citizens have to stay there and work their whole lives to keep social programs moving.

Has Crow been writing your scripts?

No, Raven wrote my scripts.

But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only,
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered -

What's wrong with the Polish population now? A neutral birth-rate is just perfect...overpopulating for nationalistic reasons is so delusional. It's quality not quantity.

Its not neutral when you compare it to the rest of the world.
Polands population is what 38.5 million?
in 2050 it will be 33.3 million.

Are you telling me thats a good thing?

but it's not neutral, that's the point.

1.4 children being born for every 2 parents = a declining population. those parents then retire and each year, less and less people are around to support your retiring population.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/04/world/europe/04prague.html

"After a long decline, birthrates in European countries have reached a historic low, as potential parents increasingly opt for few or no children. European women, better educated and integrated into the labor market than ever before, say there is no time for motherhood and that children are too expensive anyway. The result is a continent of lopsided societies where the number of elderly increasingly exceeds the number of young — a demographic pattern that is straining pension plans and depleting the work force in many countries. The European Union’s executive arm, alarmed by the trend, estimates that, if birthrates remain this low, the bloc will have a shortfall of 20 million workers by 2030."

It is a serious problem.

There are discussions in Sweden as well now; how to increase the birth rate.

It is quite a big problem in almost all European countries. However, many non-european immigrants tend to have more children.

http://www.photius.com/rankings/world2050_rank.html

Looking at this almost all European countries will go down in population as the years go by.
Eastern Europe is heaviest hit.
Russia, Ukraine, Poland especially
Italy, Germany and Spain go down heavily too.

France and Britain as well (the whites) but will be kept fairly steady because of mass immigration.'

This isnt just a question of 'more sex'.

White people enjoy their fairly comfortable life. In many places sex is mostly for enjoyment and as for babies its a 'who cares' attitude.

In my neighbourhood there is so many people with only 1 child. Instead they have 3 cats and 2 dogs.
This mentality I dont like.
Even my cousins/uncles had 1 daughter and had 5 cats! Madness.

Lol, not from what I saw in the street today in the UK. One woman, 8 kids oldest looked 20-something youngest was about 4. Looked like they were off to do their weekly shop at the off-license. And there's the woman who was even in the papers in the UK who was getting benefits for her 18 kids (some with THEIR own kids too) and two council houses earning more in benefits than she could get from any jobs she would be qualified for... She was in the papers cos she wanted a bigger house.

With these two women alone, the European population should do just fine :D

If that would be the only condition India would be leading the world for a while now.

For nations with European populations its generally the case.

Germany and Russia don't have the biggest populations in the world, but relative to other European countries (and even non-European countries with gigantic populations) they are the powers because of their larger populations. At least for now. Do you think they would be forces to be recongned with if they only had 15 or 20 million people? When your a country that has over 55 million Europeans in it, your at that point where you will become a world power. Like Germany, Russia and the US.

The US has been a world power for quite a while. Its because it has had a relatively large population which was and is (for now) predominately European. It will fail to be a world power once the booming non-European population in the South West American states breaks off that portion to go back to Mexico.

States/nations with Europeans generally become more powerful when their European populations increase.

That's what the European population likes to tell themselves.

Depending also on resources esp in Poland's case with future gas mining. I won't be at all suprised if many Poles who are abroad return 10 years from now creating a leap in Population and a baby-boom. Without a high population and related consumption, exerting any global power will be an irrelevance.

MediaWatch:
Like Germany, Russia and the US.

I like the way you ignored th UK. I guess too multicultural even though it's over 90% white. Nevermind.

Somehow I doubt this.

This is just nitpicking. Germany, Russia and USA have more people than Britain though.
He also missed France but I guess its too multicultural for you lol.

You really think they will continue doing the tedious jobs in the UK with the economic boom expected with gas salesin Poland? Suprising when almost without fail I hear them say they will return when there is work in Poland or left because of a poor economy. If you doubt it, I can only say I know Polish people better than you.

No. Establishing context. If I was nit-picking I would have mentioned France as well as pointing out USA is not a European country. Too late in the night for a LOL over here.

Britain is only one country. Sorry to spoil your bubble but there is a whole world out there.
What you claim to be as 'many' can mean just about anything. Britain only has a fairly small fraction of Poles.
And im guessing that a large portion of them (not just in Britain) wont return to Poland.
