A Europe-wide row has broken out over a website launched by the populist Freedom Party. On the site, people are asked to "tell their stories" about trouble caused by East European migrants to the Netherlands. The European Union has branded the site "an open call for intolerance". Ten ambassadors from East European countries have sent a letter of protest to the Dutch parliament. The government declines to comment, but the anger is growing.

There are calls for boycott of Dutch goods such as:

kocioo: Lista holenderskich produktów które należy bojkotować....
Dutch Lady – Milk/Diary Products
Ferrero Roche – Chocolate
Wall’s – Ice Cream
ING -Insurance
Planta -Margerine
Lady’s Choice -Margerine
Lipton -Tea
Shell -Petrol
Knorr -Food Additives
Dove -Bathiing
Sunlight -Magerine/Dishwasher Liquid
Radiant -Deodorant
Rexona -Deodorant
Ponds -Beauty Product
Kieldsens -Chocolate
Slimfast -Slimming Product
Lego -Raisin
Philips -Electrical Products
Duyvis -Junk Food
Gouda -Cheese
Robin -Floor/Apparels Cleaner
Ariel -Floor/Apparels Cleaner
Omo -Floor/Apparels Cleaner
Labello -Lip Balm
Pickwick -Tea
Venz -Chocolate Butter
Kinder Bueno -Chocolate
Unilever -All products
Dumex -Milk Powder
Nutricia -Baby Milk
Sunsilk -Shampoo
Fair & Lovely -Cosmetics

Personally, I am against the boycott. There are decent Dutch too.

Romanian member of the European Parliament (MEP), Sebastian Bodu, and Polish MEP Jacek Saryusz-Wolski are asking citizens in the 12 states which joined the European Union after 2004 to boycott any Dutch products, in protest to The Hague extremism.
In a joint statement, the two MEPs say they felt "profoundly injured and threatened" by the atitude of the Dutch party PVV.
Their request comes after the extreme right-wing party PVV, led by Geert Wilders, launched a website where the Dutch can state their discontent with Eastern European workers: "Do you have problems with people in Central and Eastern Europe? Did you lose your job because of a Polish, Bulgarian, Romanian or other Eastern European citizen? We want to know!" the website says.

"an open call for intolerance".

You could apply that to anything you dislike, it's a non quote in my opinion.
It gives the impression that we have to tolerate everything and should not talk about it as if we live in lala land.

I'm not a fan of Geert Wilders and I am not in to the whole extreme politics but, if it's not incitment for hatred, I don't see a problem.

I think all issues should be discussed.

Should countries be boycotted for offending Poles?

So to answer your question Pawian, they don't have to because they are all going to hell anyway :)

Some of those companies aren't dutch or at least floated, so I'm guessing its the country of manufacture that has highlighted these brands.
Given the working class migrants from Poland to Holland will be employed by the companies in warehouses and transportation, it may cost Polish people their jobs in foreign lands making the situation worse. The correlation between racism and economic prosperity is clear cut in "the west".

Why are today so many problems perceived as problems of intolerance, not as problems of inequality, exploitation, injustice?

Absolutely!I was calling for boycotting them for a long time! Not only countries but also nationals of these countries need to boycotted and/or discriminated against.Let the Dutch,Irish and British ******* know what we think of them!I also don't think it's a bad thing to rip them off when given opportunity. It's not a crime or a shame to steal from them!

hahah, you're joking yes?
There are about 3 million Poles in the UK and Ireland, people are pissed off with them for sure; as there are, now, so many on the dole and back home in Poland the government offers literally nothing in social welfare and is basically exporting its working population to the West. The only policy the Polish government seems to be enforcing is mass privatization and laissez-faire politics.
I think you should look a little closer to home to vent your frustration; however, the people who voted for enlargement(in UK and Eire etc) of the EU should keep their mouths shut if their p1ssed off with Poles on the dole. If you vote for enlargement and equal rights you voted for enlargement and equal rights, so stop moaning when recession kicks in; it was on the cards and people chose to ignore it,while they were swimming in the good-times.

:) Nice try but a miss as I am not a part of the collective abroad scrubbing away sh1t stains of ceramics.I let natives do it as they need jobs more than I do,my unemployment and cash reserves were high enough to be very picky.Cheers!

OK boycott. Start by disconnecting from the net as the EU paid for the setup and don't leave town as the EU is paying for your main roads

You'll find Iceland and France own most of it. I'm sure they are grateful for your custom.

A boycott won't change people's mindset. And to be consequent, one should also drinking Zywiec as the Heineken group is basically owning the Zywiec group lol......

That's just completely untrue. Just because that number is endlessly repeated by bigots and morons does not make it true, it's not even half that number.
Last time I looked at the Polish population number it was around 38.5 million which was the same it was some 10 years ago, so where did those supposedly 3 million go? Or where did the Poles come from to plug this exodus? I am surprised that people can repeat such crap without looking at the stats, it seems to me that they know what the stats are, but are simply driven by an inner racism that they are to ashamed to admit to.

The only people who would boycott such things are the ones who wouldn't be buying anyway, if you ask me...

Starting boycotts is also inviting boycotts. It would be a shame if other Europeans started boycotting Polish products due to certain political parties' opposition to us buying property here.

Back for a holiday?

Don't forget to avoid motorways, trains, trams, and any public sector building. If you're boycotting things paid for by Holland, that is.

So you're denying that Poland is the largest net recipient of EU funding, much of which comes from The Netherlands? A boycott of all things Dutch would be near impossible in Poland.

As I remember, you even offered to pay your share back. Did you ever get around to honouring that?

I prefer independent Poland, run by Poles who care about Poland's interests.Sure as hell I don't prefer Soviet Union bis.We have already went thru this once. You are trying to feed us the same kind of propaganda as in Soviet Union where Soviet people were being told that they have nothing in their stores because they are helping Poland and supply Polish people with meat, coal, paint, school supplies and all other kinds of goods.According to their propaganda,we in Poland existed only thanks to Soviet help. Ask anybody who remembers Soviet Union times,he will tell you. What was the truth we the Poles know. Now,it is the same **** only Soviet Union is replaced by European Union. Why don't you all just **** off of Poland, once and for all?

Please adjust your tone.

Oh, that's simply hillarious coming from the representative of a nation that exported nearly 80 millions of their own. Would they even fit on the island now? :D

Ive thought it for a while but never actually wrote it so here it is. Poland would be the perfect country to test a resouce based economy, it has many of the fundamentals.

80 million yeah.

Look up the difference between ancestry and citizenship.

95% of that 80 million figure couldnt point out the country on a map, never mind set foot on its soil.
