Rzeczpospolita reports that Joanna Krupska, widow of Janusz Krupski - who was the head of the Office for War Veterans - has had access to the family bank account blocked.

The widow of Senator Krzysztof Putra - who left eight children behind - is also in the same situation.

The families of the victims have applied for a special pension to take care of dependents but until any money comes through they are at the mercy of friends and relatives.

It makes you wonder when that kind of thing happens but they may just be clearing up the legal aspects. Besides, they shouldn't be thinking about money grabs at this stage.

It makes me think that families are already in a big pain about the death and on top of that they must run to offices and other people for money.

Unfortunate formalities! I just hope that the knots are taken out of the issues so that they don't have to wrangle the whole time. That decision to block works on 2 levels.

The widow of Senator Krzysztof Putra

from what i read she wasn't on the bank accounts so that may be the deal with the rest of them.. as seanus said.. it's most likely just the legalities and nothing personal.. one would hope anyway.. this is why it's important to be prepared for the worst case scenario but most people don't ever think about that kind of stuff and thus are unprepared.

and you were born yesterday? that happens everyday...

people trust that nothing bad will ever happen to then and they don't really secure themselves and their families for the future... it's unfortunate but it's also hard to survive if you used to live on xx,000 zl paycheck and not it's only x,000 zl... but many Poles do and what? life goes on...

Only someone with high power on Polish side could have arranged this. Tusk? This is getting very interesting!

Arranged what? Blocking bank account? It's routine procedure after the owner of the account dies.

No, its not--and especially not with widows of such powerful men. You think a woman with a wealthy husband and 7 kids would not have had a joint bank account with her husband? Smells like more revenge to me. Guess the crash itself wasn't enough.

Doesn't matter who you are: it's the law.

Looks like you are looking for conspiracy where there isn't one.

Enough for what?

not at all.. you may want to read related articles.. if the wife's name is not on the accounts, she then has no access to such account after the husband's passing.. it's really not that hard to understand.. really olga.

exactly

let me repeat.. read related articles before jumping to conclusions based on your wandering mind..
