I was partly inspired by MareGaee's thread titled "I suggest a new location for Poland" and partly inspired that there is some people who are obsessed, some thinking ethnic Poles=Slavic, but this is not fact.
This is my idea of a NEW Poland (ie. this is not a proposition of changes to be made in Poland, but a completely new Poland in fantasy, with its own diffeerent history & so on, except for the same borders & neighbors)
it would be perfect if Poland was not Slavic but like Romania - Romans (whatis the word....) ie. trade the ethnicity of Poland by replacing it with Polonians , and make Romania - Rumunovo a homogeneous Slavic nation . also this Polonia would have 68% Polonians, 18% Russians, Belarussians, Ukrainians , 8% Germans and 6% Other(mainly Roma/Gypsies, Jews, Moslems. make also the ethnic Polonians 50% Lutheran, 30% non religious, 20% Other(eg. pagan, jehovah's witness, catholic, anglican, protestant)
make it also not a part of EU; because everyone would hate us so much and we wouldnt like the others either, but a part of NATO and the EEC so it wouldnt be poorer than todays Poland. 3 Official languages; Polonian, Russian, German
schooling for each ethnic group up to & incl. of secondary schooling in their own languages; German, Russian, Belarussian, Ukrainian, Roma, Jewish, Moslem
the Germans would mostly inhabit what is currently Lower and Upper Silesia - as an autonomous German speaking voivedship with Vroclava(Breslau) being the capital.
The ethnic Polonians would be physically no different to present day Sicilians or Greek Cypriots; or make that... identical to present day Sardinians and the language would be something like portugese.
Polonia would have as the only country in Europe legalised Gay marriage and could use Gay marriage to obtain Polonian citizenship. Drug laws would be the harshest in Europe comparable to singapores 10 year for possession of any drug, 2 year for being intoxicated with a banned substance, Death penalty for trafficking/importing/producing.
Even though the country overall seems liberall with Ethnicity tolerance, there would be official registration of Mixed race people- known as coloureds, and the coloured communitys would have to live in designated areas of countryside/town/city (like the coloureds in S.A. under apartheid)
Prostitution would be legal, throughout, brothel, street, etc. and tax free and receiving government support as 'social work' with benefits on top of the tax free salary and free medical & dental.
Tunisia a former Polonial dependency, would have the most of Polonian expatriates & ethnic Polonians living outside of Polonia with 6 to 8 million people.
While in Europe, Sweden & Norway would have most Polonian immigrants dating back to the 18th century when they were invited to help with specialised industries and building of infrastructure and would count 1 million in norway and 400000 in Sweden .
The third busies airport after Heathrow & Schipol would be Gothafen(ie. current polish gdynia), the Gothafen seaport being the busiest in the world.
Polonia itself would have a population of 51million. unemployment rate 10% , people living with HIV/AIDS: 0.2%
Polonia would allow the possesion of firearms from the age of 16, provided the person in question has passed all 2 examinations on weapons handling & an extensive medical examination including mental health, & that of relatives going back 3 generations.
alcohol & tobacco use from age 16. Driver license from age 21 with very strict regulations for first 5 years of license. Legal age for sexual intercourse 12 years.
Please make your own versions of a new Poland, complete with a new name, language, ethnic people, relgion and so on; I am especially counting on MareGae's response!
