Incredible but true. Pure theft.

Just what you'd expect from a bloke who on election stopped investigations into his crooked friends overnight.

Wrong. He hasn't raided anything - he's just cut the amount that the private funds are getting. Given that these OFE funds are all but useless anyway (what exactly is 7.3% a month of what people pay in social insurance contributions?) and that it's only a cut to 3%, is it really worth talking about?

Wrong. Theft is when you take something that isn't yours. In this case, the government just isn't giving anymore.

It's what I'd expect from a Prime Minister who sees a huge hole in ZUS that needs to be plugged and who is pragmatic enough to realise that cutting pensions in an election year is going to do no-one any favours whatsoever.

No worse than any other social insurance institution in Europe.

Until now, they have paid. The trouble is, will they pay and how much in, say, 15 or 20 years. Nor the pension funds are innocent lambs. They used to charge enormous fees in the beginning which are less now because the governments ordered them to adjust. I neither trust ZUS nor the pension funds.

Or it could be that Poles take it to another level. From memory the percentage of the population who work is lower in Poland than in any other first world nation.

It's not a theft. ZUS only funds half of every person's pension, the government gives the rest so if the government has no money, it obviously can't give any. And Harry has a point - HALF of Poland's adult population doesn't work so it obviously affects the funds (and it has less to do with no job opportunities and more with an inborn belief that their ass was made for a menager's seat at least, and a cashier job is infinitely below them)

Really?

Let's discuss the German or Swiss systems, shall we? Both of those force people to purchase private health insurance. No ifs, no buts - and even unemployed people are forced to do so in Switzerland.

Or let's discuss the UK model, where you can pay a small fortune in NI, yet get the same basic pension at the end of the day as someone who was earning minimum wage.

Or let's talk about the Swedish model, where the social taxation is unbelievably high.

Sorry, but the real theft in Poland is committed by all those trade unions who go beserk every time "pension reform" is mentioned.

Sad thing is, pensions are always at risk, whether in private or public sector.

my understanding is that he is not taxing them-as Gordon Brown did, however simply transferring them into a different account. It is simply a way of showing the eurocrats that they are counting the debt incorrectly, and through this accounting trick debt will look a little lower.
