Media reports that slogans used during demonstrations marking Ukraine’s Unity Day, Saturday, called for the annexation of “ethnically Ukrainian regions” of Poland and other neighbouring countries to be joined to the Ukraine.

I wanna ask if those people are some kind of bunch of madmen who no one take seriously or are they some serious threat and a sign that Ukrainian nationalism is growing in force.

I wanna ask for most Ukrainian users of PF. Is this the main-stream?

Nope, not at all. The Ukrainians I know all consider the country to be complete and they're happy with what they've got. I've had quite detailed conversations with them about this sort of thing, even to one Bandera supporter - and none of them have expressed any interest in "other" hands.

These are just the fringe lunatic edge of society.

And how is this different to Poles demanding the return of all "Polish" lands?

(mods : perhaps a less evocative thread title is in order, given that it's blatantly misleading?)

Lol Ukis asking for it again, they never stop being fascist twats and they never learn, whenever they tried to take polish lands they got slapped, they should take care of their 3rd world country and learn from the past.

Its not misleading you anti-polish fvck, the ukrainians in question also claim that about half of polish poets, commanders and kings throught history are really closet ukrainians, that Kraków, the oldest polish capital is really a lost ukrainian city and so on.

Ukrainian fascists are indeed attempting to lay claim to polish land, nothing your anti-polish arse can do to soften it up.

They murdered defencless polish civilians and stole their property, after WW2 when they had to fight the polish army they lost, like always.

Of course you repeatedly said you support murder and torture of polish civilians, being rabidly anti-polish you will say stuff like that, i came to terms with that.

I daresay that ukrainians being a nation without history, heritage or any military achievements will keep attempting ridiculous hijacking of polish and russian heritage.

That would the Polish Army that was commanded by the Red Army, right? Incidentally, they took several big name scalps if I recall correctly, including that guy who has the statue in Bieszczady. Poland only really won by ethnically cleaning them - you know, Russkie tactics.

So why do Poles keep attempting to reclaim land in Ukraine? Probably the same reason - without much in the way of military achievements post 1750, they're resorting to pointless nationalistic measures.

Its not a bad idea to give partitioning a try....

The part of Poland i live in would return to Germany , and i could go out without worrying about everything i have that is not nailed down disapearing...

The rest of Poland could be shared among Russia , Ukraine , and other countries , maybe even Belarus if they sort themselves out....

Those Poles that really prefer to live under a Polish government could be given a small island somewhere....

this should spark an interesting debate...???

No.

For a provocation to spark an interesting debate, it should contain 90% of sensible
content and only 10% of sh*it stirring elements. Your post consists of 100% sh*it
stirring elements, that's why it will be ignored by most posters.

Really? What was the MO and UB doing there during Operation Wisła then?

It was Polish People's Army, don't forget. Now...where were the leaders trained? Hmm.

Well, look at the part of Poland that was under Austria-Hungary - society certainly flourished during those times.

Fighting ukrainian gangs that terrorised the civilian polish populace.

Ukraine doesn't need more land, it's got plenty of land as a matter of fact it's population is shrinking( lower birth rate, emigration) these nationalists should look for ways to try and help their country economically.

Exactly as I'd say to Poles too.

These nationalists are just a minority of deluded people, just like in Poland. In fact, the parallels between Ukraine and Poland are staggering!

Wow I would never thought that you are able to say that. I see progress here.

No they were not. Commanders were Polish but trained in Soviet Union - mostly refugees from UPA massacre territories.

Oh they are. A small minority, but they're doing it all the same. Just like in Ukraine - a small insignificant minority that's hardly worth talking about.

And no doubt acting with the express consent of their masters in the Red Army.

No.

It's the same "shiry" Ukrainians who call other Ukrainians from the Eastern and Southern parts of the country traitors, not "real" Ukrainians, and so on. They consider Bandera a hero and all that.
Think PiS, only (much) worse.

They always start talking about *real* Ukrainians vs. "fake" ("pro-Russian") Ukrainians. Except people whom they consider "pro-russian" are not really pro-russian, they are just normal.

On a different topic, it's "Ukraine", not "the Ukraine".

Two of my Ukrainian friends come from Cherkassy in central Ukraine, although they do seem sympathetic to Russia they feel Ukrainian and are proud of that, and say it's mostly the western Ukrainians who are nationalistic.

haha they wouldn't have much support from many Poles as a real possible project... Most would just liten for sentiments but that's it

Don't you mean more of some "fascist" like groups? PiS is social conervatives...
You say those "people" we are talking about are just more "extreme" social conservatives?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_conservative

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_and_Justice

Say again?
Doesn't look like Ukraine got any social conservatives... Is this true? Or just Wikipedia having not that much information about Ukraine?
