In my town of Pulawy I get 40Mb daytime and 80Mb night time - I am on first name terms with the IT guys who maintain it and all I need to do in the rare event of an issue is to call them and they will check it right away.

It makes me laugh when here in little ole Lubelska we are referred to as Poland 'B' and having travelled to many areas of Poland in my 14 years of living here I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. :0)

In the mornings I get 20Mb. What do you do with that sizeable transfer speed? 1080p? :)

What is upload speed?

I work for a UK IPTV company so when we are testing stuff like HD streams it is always good to have someone out of the country to test the retention on the stream.

Around 7-8mbs .

Can I ask , what you are paying for? I am paying for the (up to) 25 mbs but i rarely ever get 5 - 6 mbs...and i have tested it at all hours of the day over a very large period.

I am getting 20Mbs at the moment and will be upgrading to 40Mbs soon.
90% of the time I achieve 19-20Mbs, but we are in a very fortunate place as the main internet line for the region comes into my town, so we get first pick so-to-speak.

The marketing ploy of using 'up to' has been criticized by Ofcom in the UK as misleading as in reality users very rarely achieve the speed that they are told they 'can' get and it seems this has been mirrored in Poland. http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/07/27/many-still-not-getting-the-s uperfast-broadband-they-are-promised/

It varies, as in my town we have fibre optics, but this is not common practice at all. Most rural communities are run through the Telecom system with many still using aluminium cables which are terrible for loosing data.

Most cities will have cable though.
