...happily try to sing old Polish songs in kareoke bars(shame the song was meant to be eye of the tiger,but.......
As a quick aside, the song, "Eye of the Tiger" was mostly written by Jim Peterik, a local Chicago area guy who can still be found sipping coffee at a local coffee shop. You might want to google him to see how incredibly sucessful he was as a prolific song writer and performer.
Vandals are just like that; vandals. Yep, they are just stupid jerks. Of course, here in the states there have been many instances of people defaming themselves and blaming it on their perceived enemies.
I never heard of this particular place and the evil crime of murders comitted by Poles against innocent Jews. It isn't quite that simple. The area was under Soviet control bacause of the Soviet-German pact and many Polish Jews were relieved to learn that the Soviets, and not the Nazis, were to occupy their village. Many publicly welcomed the Red Army as their protector to the detriment of Poles. Then the Nazis attacked and controlled that area. Anti-Jewish incidents were structured by Reinhard "the Hangman" Heydrich. It was wartime and nothing there was black and white.
