Residents of Warsaw live an average of three years longer than people in other parts of Poland, according to a new report compiled by the Warsaw City authorities.

However, there is a yawning life-span gap between the residents of the posh Wilanow district and the city’s poor residential areas.

The average Varsovian (men and women) lives up to 74 years of age. But in Wilanow, an oasis of longevity, men live 81.8 years, while women an impressive 90.3 years.

It is connected with intelligence.
Smart people know they have quit smoking, excessive drinking, go on Meditarrenaen diet, exercise etc. to live longer.

Probably Wilanów area attracts such people.

Pretty well true - it's long been a posh area. You won't find too many ashtrays, kielbasy or vodka bottles in that part of town.

Personally I quit smoking (by the way, in Zoliborz which is geriatric central too) for a whole lot of reasons but partly because I figured that everyone I know with a PhD is a non-smoker and everyone I know living in poverty is a smoker.

Strange reversal, every Doctor I know smokes, infact, every graduate I know smokes.
Far less to do with inbuilt inteligence than it is situation and location.
Poorer areas are often far less healthy enviroments, poorer people often work in far more manual jobs.
That some pampered princess who has never done a real days work in her life lives longer than a working mother in a tower block is hardly a surprise is it.
