Just to add fuel the great amount of ignorance in this thread... article on your V4 and what it is doing to counter threats from East. A US presence fits very well with protecting Poland. Along with that the planned announcement of your f-16 to stationed in Poland on a rotating basis in the next couple of years. See the BIG picture not small...

On Friday, May 20, Gen. Andrei Tretyak, head of the Armed Forces General Staff Main Operations Directorate (GOU), confirmed Russia's position that the deployment of U.S. missile defense system poses a real threat to Russia's nuclear deterrent.

The general said the threat to Russia's nuclear deterrent will emerge after 2015, when the United States modifies its SM-3 anti-missiles and brings its seaborne missile defense group to 40 ships with 400 interceptor missiles.

To answer convex, I see little wrong in defensive options per se but we all know the huge undertones that lie behind them. International relations experts had a field day with this one. My beef is with the apparent urgency popping up and then inexplicably disappearing. P*ss takes are pi*s takes but this is fobbed off as the official version of things. If there is an imminent danger, you can't just take it or leave it. The thread assessments are all fudged BS anyway!

The Kremlin has proposed to the United States and NATO, on reaching an agreement on not aiming the European missile defense system against Russia - tells the Russian daily "Kommersant". According to the newspaper the chances that the West accepts Moscow's proposal, however, are "virtually nil".
"Kommersant" writes that what forced the Moscow Treaty would impose restrictions on the deployment of U.S. anti-missiles in Europe. "American anti-missiles should not be many, should not fly too fast and should be stationed in such places, which could not reach the Russian ballistic missiles - a proposal being transmitted daily to the Kremlin.

Points out that in the opinion of Russian military experts U.S. anti-missiles under any circumstances should not be in Poland.

On Wednesday, the NATO-Russia summit

"Kommersant" reported that prevention of the European missile defense being aimed against the Russian Federation will be encouraged by the Defense Minister Anatoly Sierdiukov at a meeting of NATO-Russia Council at the level of defense ministers, who will meet Wednesday in Brussels.

The new proposals come down to the Kremlin that "Moscow is prepared to accept the emergence of an American missile shield in Europe, but under certain conditions, as enshrined in the Treaty."

Yes, Well unfortunately WW2 got us out of the Great Depression & Ever since then the U.S has been addicted to the Military Industrial Complex for profits.

Unfortunately Healthcare is not economically productive like the Miltary Industrial Complex is.

HEalthcare may actually be a negative to the U.S economy due to doctors leaving & cuts in medical as well as whole businesses going down that are involved in healthcare now.
With doctors, Insurance agents, Nurses ect losing jobs.

But, the U.S miltary budget is out of contorl. We are indebting ourselves to failure. Much like the Soviets & Romans did which made them fall.
