Speaking of journalists and integrity, Wojciech Sumliński is an investigative journalist and a darling of right wingers. It so happens that his book was recalled from bookstores in the middle of presidential campaign without giving any justification.

The book "Niebezpieczne Związki Bronisława Komorowskiego"(Bronisław Komorowski - previous president) plagiarizes several criminal fiction classics, including Alistair MacLean and Raymond Chandler. Whole paragraphs are ripped. I attached examples.

That was his response to the government's efforts to crack down on crime and scams. That is all the more needed in the wake of the Platformers' pitiful performance. They not only failed to crack down on scandals but actually were the source of many, and dismally failed to eliminate the designer-drug trade and chemcially castrate paedophiles. Sting operations are used by law-enforcement the world over to prevent and prosecute crime. Only those with something to hide, drug-dealers, terrorists, mafia types, people cheating on their employers or their spouses have something to hide need to fear closer scrutiny. Those with a clean conscience should not object to having their phones tapped and emails monitored if it serves crime prevention and public security. But the Szechterling again is on the side of shady types, anarcho-leftists and other such scum and against energetic and effective law enforcement. Coming from a KPP background swarming with conspriators, provocateurs, saboteurs and terrorists, it's no wonder!

As for the best selling Polish newspaper being a "rag", it's a pity that you insult the Poles who choose to read it, why can't you just get over the fact that your work was never good enough to be published in Wyborcza?

Is the same true of people who refuse to undergo routine background checks by LEO, such as the ones carried out when people apply for residency or citizenship? Did they check the backgrounds of those journalist students? Do you honestly believe that real Polish students would vote for Michnik??? It is not a true vote, better check also the authorities at those universities.

As for that journalist/writer Sumliński, the list keeps expanding. He also plagiarized Albom, Larsson, Steinbeck, Coelho. They found this out by talking to a translator. Unfortunately, three other translators who translated MacLean are already dead.

Essentially, the link goes into great detail about how he copied many of the works directly. It compares paragraphs and shows that he didn't even bother to significantly rewrite any of it. Like most of what PiS produce, it's cheap trash designed for the brains of those that are already brainwashed.

Too bad the Platformers were let off so lightly. Hopefully a parliamentary commission will put their scams, offences and neglect under scrutiny.

The point that everybody here is missing on purpose is that his book is not a work of fiction but a result of that journalist investigation into a dirty, murky and a suspicious past, deeds and connections of the former president B. Komorowski.

That part based on facts and fruits of his investigation must be a stonewall solid because his cronies and fellow travelers don't even try to touch the important part of the book. Picking instead on some unimportant lace or other finery aimed at making the reading more interesting.

Even then those people shouting about plagiarism have no ground to stand. If I was him I would sue those papers that pointed a finger at him.

The article in Newsweek is about the plagiarism in the form of the book, and it got that right. Aside from the ethics related to plagiarism, we could talk about the ethics of describing a ruling president using language straight from crime fiction books. It's a cheap attempt at playing on reader's emotions, and influence him not by strenght of arguments but subconsciously.

What ethics? Unlike Michnik, PiS supporting journalists get their ethics straight from the Good Journalist's Guide To Writing Complete Bollocks In Trybuna Ludu.

My dziadek in Polonia once told me about shyster businessmen of a certain nationality (which I will not specify) who used to clandestinely haul away a shop's or warhehouse's s goods, equipment and fixtures under the cover of night, stash them away for safekeeping somewhere and then set fire to the building to collect the insurance money. Many a businessman has also become rich by going bankrupt if he played his cards right.

One obvious reason that GW's sales are down is the bans imposed on state financed offices buying the paper, but that's PIS for you, happy to give millions of taxpayer money to a vile racist monk just for supporting them but unwilling to let the taxpayer buy some copies of the best selling newspaper in Poland.
