Niche - Just saying hi from Midwestern US.

Just wanted to say hi and hope that I am able to meet others who speak Polish. I have been learning for a little over a year now but think I will learn faster if I am exposed to others who know the language fluently. I started to learning just for fun but decided that Polish would be a good language to speak so here I am.

Welcome, Niche. You can't get any "speaking" practice here, but you can certainly learn a lot about Poland and its people

I should have clarified. I can read but what gets me is how the words are put together. I can translate words but in English it makes no sense. Anyway, the more I can see it the more I can remember. I plan on going to Europe for spring break so the more I can learn the better.

You are right, you will buy polish people hearts if you speak a little language. I understand your problem ... im Polish living in Canada nowadays (I make my first steps on this land ). It seems to be that I know few words and abide by the rules of the language game but somehow it is difficult to express myself in a way understandable for others.
Sometimes it makes me feel confused ... for me it makes sense what im saying or how....
