How long have you been in the UK and are you planning on studying anymore?? What do you think of Lincoln???

P.S. don't worry about your mistakes, i have seen a lot more people on here write less competently than you :)

I hope too:) I have been in the UK for several months. Atually, I am looking for a job as a graduate. At first I thougt that my english isn't very good but now I see that it's better and better with every day:)
What I think about Lincoln???
Hmmm...Lincoln is rather small city with many traditions. I don't have many friends here, but I think that people here are very kind and benign.

well as i'm from the UK myself, i just thought i'd ask your opinion on where you are staying. I'm glad you find it plesant and its different going to somewhere like Lincoln rather than London or Manchester etc etc where everybody else seems to settle.

sounds interesting and way out of my field of work, lol, turbines and renewable energy, sounds like a power station or somewhere like that may be a good place to start, although i'm not sure as i'm not an expert at all in Mechanics. The only mechanics i now about are car mechanics :)

Going back to you level of English, did you have private lessons in Poland?? i ask because i don't believe that you have learnt all your language from just normal classes at school :) Do you think you will stay in England for a longer perod of time if you find a job that you like??

I really enjoy Mechanics especially project of wind farms or offshores. For some people
it sounds very strange when I say "I am Mechanical Engineer" and they do not believe me:)

ow i see what you mean now by 'Mechanical Engineer' i think i was confused before but now i understand. There are plenty of new porjects starting in this country that are linked with renewable energy inlcuding wind farms etc and using the power of the see to produce energy for the country. I think the only issue i have with renewable energy like the two i've ust mentioned is that you can only use them when they are available, for example, when the wind is blowing or the sea is rough. Lol what am i doing discussing something i know nothing about, you know all that already, hahaha.

My level of english....Hmmm. I did not have any private teacher in Poland, but you have right - English in our country isn't enough when you are going to come to the UK.
If I find a job here I am going to stay for a longer period.

I suppose the best practise can be found in actually speaking the language to people who speak it, its not just the importance of the past, present, future and all the other tenses we have, its the actual day to day conversation which is the most important, i'm no teacher but sometimes i feel that language is made over complicated by teachers.

You have right of course. Conversation is the most important, tenses are important as well, because you have to write correctly:)
What a shame that you are not from Lincoln:(

Tell me something about you if it's possible:)

yes of course tenses are important too, i was not disguarding them only commenting that to start with simple conversation is the most important when moving to a new country.

Hi Agnieszka!

Welcome to the forum! I just joined yesterday, and this stuff is totally addictive!
LOL!

And I thought we were from Lincoln, Nebraska and was beginning to feel sorry for you. But maybe Lincoln in the UK is just as bad. ;-)

And regarding the level of English, I guess it all depends were you went to school in PL, if you know what I mean. :-)
