So as I cannot really afford to go to university in Canada, and I get a discount in Poland...I have pretty much decided on going to university in Poland, therefore, I will need to get some Polish health insurance, how do I go about that? I have already googled it with no luck.

Being a student you should automatically get health insurace. It's not costly at all like in the US and students are eligible as well as unemployed.

Being a student you get a student's ID and then go to your local clinic and sign for insurance. This is at least what I think, but I could be wrong as I don't live in Poland now. But it shouldn't be a big problem if you are a formal student in Poland. Being a student can you work? if you can, you can just fill for an unemployment and then you are 100% sure to be covered.

Also, you could contact the university you are planning to attend and ask them about the insurance. Its possible that the tuition fee covers health insurance as well.

If you are a Polish citizen and would be "student dzienny" (classes Monday-Friday in mornings and early afternoons) then you sure would have health insurance for free. If you would be "student wieczorowy/zaoczny" (classes in late afternoons/weekends) then you get a job and then employer pay your health insurance or get unemployed status (but that can be taken away If you aren't willing to clean streets or take other "cool" jobs no one else wants) and then state pays for It. But I'm not sure how that looks like If you don't have citizenship.
