don't get me wrong, its not because i want to have lots and lots of women or that i'm not ready for the commitment or responsibilities that marriage would bring, i just want to be officially un attached in the younger years of my life.

didn't think that, but if you're like me you just aren't ready. You'll know when you are ready - I'm pretty sure I will!

I'm 28 now! But I just think that if I do the marriage thing in next five years and a kid follows then I'm ok. At the moment I just think of marriage as stifling! Don't know why as such!

I agree and I think Tornado is trying a novel way of saying "I want a Polish Woman' <grin>

That is obviously what attracts a larger and larger number of young English men to do these CELTA's and go out East.

I think that it is a biological trick. When you are young there is a a strong biological urge to reproduce and people do not think about the long term commitments involved which in a way is understandable because everybody changes as they get older and we do think like that at the time, do we? We all learn from experiences and change. It is later when all the fun and sex is over and couples just look at each other and think, 'God, why am I here?" Then you have to start worrying!

Then you will never have them then, because the more you do the more you want to do and the older you get the more selfish you get.

so now i'm selfish because i don't want kids or because i have aims in life that i wish to achieve, come on give me a break i don't think so!!!!

Haivng children just isn't a priority at my age my god i'm 21 not 38!!

however i feel your sentiments are right, when you have achieved something there is always something else you want to achieve on the next level

well said meerkat.. you are absolutely right. If only we had the wisdom that age brings when we had the youth to enjoy it.. not speaking for myself of course! You cannot put an age on when you are going to do such things by and if you do you are likely to end up with the wrong person out of desperation.. just go with the flow, until you meet someone you really want to be with.. regardless of age.. unfortunately women do have a biological clock.. but better to be childless than knock out sprogs with an unsuitable partner and end up in a miserable relationship or as a single parent.

In Poland we have a saying that goes: "Każdy sądzi po sobie" - which means that people like to judge other people through their own experience and thoughts. You know, you will always suspect people to do what you would do on their place, etc, etc, I hope you get the idea what am I trying to say. I think that I already know why you suspect your country men of all those "indecent" motives standing behind their decision of going to Poland and the last post of yours explains your grumpy attitude towards Poland... Well, I would like to say that I'm sorry that your relationship with a dreamed polish woman got miserable but than again that would be a lie... Ah never mind. :)

If only youth knew.

There were no English to be seen twenty years ago in Poland. Mind you, the country did not have the same amount of openness to foreigners either. I am pleased to have seen what I did when I did. I think that I saw the best of the country as it was really. I have moved on to new places. Poland has nothing new to offer me these days. Obviously, economically it is better in some ways though it is a mish-mash of cultures. I was there then and now I am here so I can live with Poland or without it. I have nothing there anymore as my family is here so why is it my problem? I like Poland for a few days and that is enough. At the airport, after I have passed the odprawy and when I see the sign 'ku samolotowi do Albionu' I am always very happy though!
