Hi,

I am in the UK and would like to see a dentist in England with a referral for the work to be done in Poland. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

There a literally hundreds of "Stomatolgia"/"Stomatolog" in Wroclaw... most are pretty well equipped and trained...
Not sure what you mean by a 'referral' - if it has something to do with UK NHS paying for it, probably not, not sure but I would assume the insurance systems are too dissimilar...
Cash is always king ;-)
I'm an American and had a broken molar a couple of years back (an old, large filling had failed and a molar had broken virtually in half)... had the tooth cleaned up and a temporary cap intalled and it cost me about 125zl at the time; which included an appointment to call in a allergist to double check my sensitivity to certain pain killers (I have a potentially fatal allergy to Codien).
I still have the temp in (I know, I should get off my... you-know-what... and go back and have a real crown intsalled ;-)... at the time the estimate was about 150 to 250zl... something to do withthe material - gold or synthetic(?)

The office I went to was a small but very professional husband and wife office (both are licensed dentists - I think one is an oral surgeon ?) Their equipment was better than I have seen anywhere (compared to Germany and the US), they listen well and then give advice. I seem to recall that the husband wasn't comfortable with English but the wife spoke German (I'm also fluent in German)... it was the only time in my life that a trip to the dentist was, all things considered, pleasant. The langauage issue may have cleared up by now.
Anyway, just one opinion but, I recommend them highly.
BTW, the office is in one of the older parts of town - old German red-brick buildings - don't let the outside appearance of the area scare you off.

here's the link, and that's my 2 cents...

good luck...

p.s. you may also find big, fancy websites advertising 'medical vacation packages' (i.e. includes hotel, medical service, etc.) personally, I prefer to stay away from stuff like that... not so concerned about qualifications, it's just that they, due to their 'specialization' in the foreigner/tourist patient biz... assume everyone comes with suitcases full of cash... I find the smaller operations just as competent and far more customer friendly...

(ok... my three cents worth ;-)

Thanks for your comprehensive reply.

What I really need is a consultation done in the UK with the X-rays etc and then the actual work to be done in Poland. I was hoping there may be a company that offered this sort of service in England.

I know there was a firm in Swindon called Dental prestige but I don't think they are trading anymore.
