czesc.

does anybody know of any garden in sopot or gdansk that can be hired to have a wedding reception. it's for august 2010. we're thinking of hiring a party tent.

if it's a public park, who should we talk to? how much do you think will it cost?

i was thinking about the oliwa park - but im a bit apprehensive because it's in front of a museum/bishop's palace. they might not like it.

i thought about the gdansk zoo too, any empty but green space in the zoo premises, away from the animals (so we dont disturb them), but, oh well, we could give it a try. there's so much space in the zoo, right? do you think they'd allow us?

Wedding Banquet Hall/Sale Bankietowe - Gdansk or Sopot

Czesc.

Does anybody know of a beautiful banquet hall (not advertised or they probably dont have a website) somewhere in Sopot or Gdansk? It's for 85-100 people on August 2010. Any contact numbers? I know sometimes there are really nice ones but are only contactable by phone.

We've checked a lot of the 3 star establishments but almost 100% of them can only accommodate up to 60 people.

Dziekuje Bardzo.

there is a nice dwor up by the zoo - as youre coming up spacerowa from the city heading out of town you want to take a left just as your coming out of oliwa - its a corner just passed the traffic lights with the zoo sign - drive down there a small way and then there is another left that will take you up a small hill - the dwor is on the right - nice grounds, small lake, courtyard, spa etc etc

It's called dwor oliwski - check their website for more info

ive been to a wedding in the grounds of oliwa cathedral - nice

Ive also been to weddings up and around the 3M - places that are rented out for the purpose. I went to a really nice place with a series of barns which were rented out for wedding receptions - up by the lakes on the other side of osowa

That sounds like an interesting & fantastic idea!

In the United States some people rent out airplane hangars, to use for wedding receptions. Lots of room for guests that way.

A sincere thanks PF, for putting up with me FIVE terrific years, muah!

mulling things over there is also another dwor between kamienny potok and orlowo - on the right as your driving towards gdynia on niepodleglosci - a way past the aqua parc

its a large old dwor with a big courtyard and stables (you can see the horses from the road) - they also have massive grounds that large party tents could be set up in. over the crest of the small hill is the beach

ruccola, in the grounds of sopot museum (?) also has/had quite nice space for a wedding reception... then there is always the mountain mans restaurant up 1 maja that has a lot of outside space for a large tent, and a small lake

hi phatty. thank you for your suggestion.

dwor oliwski's beautiful. unfortunately, it doesnt fit our budget - we already called them a few weeks ago. i dont know how much they will charge for a garden wedding banquet/reception though. indoors, they can only accomodate up to 60 people =(
