Namastay ! Greetings ! Dzien dobry !

Very happy to announce the commencement of Indian Cooking Classes in POZNAN.

I am a professional Chef with more than 30 years cooking experience in major 5 star hotels and exclusive restaurants around the World.

Currently i am based in Poznan, and now conducting cooking workshops on a weekly basis.
At my workshops you will firstly learn the importance, significance and health benefits of Indian spices.

Our workshop groups are limited to 6 persons, and this ensures you will get ample opportunities to get hands on experience and get a true feel of being involved at each stage.

You will get detailed printed recipes of everything you cook for the day, to take home.

You will get to taste and enjoy everything that you cook, and you are welcome to take your share home to enjoy with your friends or family. Please bring some small containers along to the workshop if you are considering this option.

You will learn about the ancient system of Ayurveda in relation to Indian cooking.

You will discover how Ayurveda and a healthy varied diet can help restore inner balance.

The duration of the workshop is from 10.00 to 14.00 hrs. and tea/coffee is available free.

English to Polish translation of the workshop is available for non- English speakers.

A typical workshop comprises of 3 main dishes, rice, Indian bread, and Sweet dish.

This will be your Lunch prepared and served by yourselves in a fun friendly atmosphere.

Cost of the 4 hours workshop is set at a reasonable 90 PLN per person.

You can take photos of yourself and others at the cooking classes, and through the processes at each stage. No video cameras please. Photos are for your personal use only, and not to be used for profit at any stage.

Please contact me by email to clarify any other questions you may have.

Hope to see you all at my delicious Indian cuisine workshops in Poznan.

What about SANEPID? I trust that you meet all their requirements regarding food preparation?

I am not aware of the SANEPID regulations, in Poland. Please tell me more about the same.
However these classes will be conducted at a local restaurant kitchen, and i suppose that they would have necessary clearances from the local health authorities in Poznan. Hope i can learn more. thanks

I'd advise you to make sure that you have a contract making them liable for compliance with the regulations. Poland is very odd with law at times, and you essentially need to practice the art of "covering your ass" - even though they should in theory be responsible for dealing with the authorities, it wouldn't surprise me if they found a way to make you responsible for it.

I'm not really familiar with their regulations - someone else might be able to tell you more. I know that they have some ridiculously arcane requirements, but I've never had a reason to really find out what they demand.

It's a nice idea, but please, please make sure that all your bases are covered.

(incidentally, any problems in Poznan with registering a business, let me know - I've dealt with the bureaucracy here more times than I care to count!)

Indian cooking is close to the best in the world IMHO. I often had Indian curry as a child and a guy here has made a couple of meals for me. He is leaving for Scotland and I'll miss what he served up. All I had to do was to provide the meat and he'd do the rest.

Why the personal questions, TIT? 30 years experience is extensive in gastronomia. Why not respect what he is offering? Oh, let me guess, you think horsefood, aka cabbage, is somehow more hoped cuisine than Indian curry, LOL

Some respect for what the man has accomplished.

As least he is showing an interest in sampling what is amongst the best cuisine in the world, TIT. You know, I'm familiar with Indian buffets where it's all you can eat. You'd think with Poland's surplus of cabbage that there'd be sth along those lines.

What cabbage is it to be tomorrow, TIT? You can even throw some cabbage in Indian food if you want. Try Patta (or Band) Gobhi or Raitta. Harumaki (sajgonki/spring rolls) have cabbage too. In fact, be grateful to us Celts who brought cabbage to Europe in 600BC. A gift from the Asians. It's not Polish in origin.

The history goes a bit deeper than that ;0 ;) Still, we appreciate the variety that Indians bring to our culinary options. From Pasanda to Vindaloo, there's sth for everyone.

Just food, true. Still, some value it more than others. Don't knock it before you've tried it, TIT.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punjabi_cuisine, some of the best stuff is here. This is where Pakistan should be grateful to share this territory with India. They learn some good things.

Did you really just say that Pakistan should be grateful? Had we (the English) not partitioned India there would be no Pakistan, also some of the best dishes come from what is now Pakistani territory and most of the so called "Indian" restaurants in the UK are actually owned by Pakistanis or Bangladeshis...But I suppose "Indian" restaurant has a better ring to it.

Any way good luck to the guy running the school...teach them how to make aloo saag..People in that part of the world are renound for their love of potatoes :D

Where I come from, Aberdeen, almost all of the owners I know are Indian. Pakistanis tend to run corner shops or places like Spar, Mace and other such stores.

Sincere thanks to all those who support the Polish forum and share views here ! thanks in particular to the overwhelming response that i received for my cooking classes, on the 6 of March. As i prefer to keep group sizes and workshops manageable, i am afraid that i cant fit any more participants at this stage. So please accept my apologies. Having said that, there is no reason to be disappointed as i will organising another workshop soon later in March.
I will however put a video clip on Youtube for you to enjoy and catch up with the latest news from my end.
Yesterday, was a hectic day for me as i had the local television station from Beskide, shooting a segment on Indian Vegetarian cuisine incorporating principles of Ayurveda. This segment i hope will progress to become a series of presentations and cooking shows.
Currently i am also in the process of constructing and incorporating ideas on my personal web site named "Satya Ayurveda", will keep you posted once it's up and running.

Thanks lastly to all the personal messages from Warsaw, Krakow, and other towns inviting me to come and organise cooking workshops in your local townships. My answer is simple,if you are committed to learn and experience new tasate sensations, then surely i will take the time to travel and share with you my expertise and life experiences.

Cheerio and wish you all a very pleasant day ahead.

Interesting. What is Indian vegetarian food supposed to be like? I can't imagine having Indian food without some sort of meat involved. I was also unaware that Ayurveda could be incorporated into food.
