Dear Friends, my well wishers and supporters,

Indian cooking classes are now blossoming into a weekly affair. Group numbers are still limited to 6 persons as i find that i can then associate very closely with the group. Instructions are both in English and Polish ( my Polish is getting better ) :-)
As stated earlier, i have been working with the Beskide television station on producing a series of informative and entertaining cooking sessions. Here is a link to the very first one !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyBOmmf7EkI&feature=player_embedded

Do enjoy, pass it on to your friends and hope to see you one day at our workshops.

You can also directly correspond with me on fun2soar@gmail.com
Due to the large number of emails i receive each day, please do not expect an immediate response.

Best wishes folks, live and eat healthy. Just letting you know that i am also considering requests for conducting non- vegetarian courses from May onwards. Stay tuned and Namastay.

Please come down to Gliwice sometime and do a workshop. I have a Polish friend who would also really appreciate it as she has an Indian boyfriend in Edinburgh and wants to perfect her repertoire. She is already quite good but can learn a few more tricks of the trade :)

Dear friends, my apologies to those emails that i havent had time to reply as yet, i am so happy and absolutely chuffed at the response from this post.
A further update on what I have been upto :-) last Saturday as Lech Poznan was celebrating their victory in the Stary Miasto Poznan, i was involved with the "Night of Musuems"
My task was to deliver a presentation on Ayurveda ( Traditional Indian Medicine System) and my wife Jagoda was at hand to provide a running translation from Eng to Polish.
I had a wonderful time speaking on two different occassions to audiences of nearly 100 persons, it was truly a remarkable experience for me as this was the largest number of people i had ever addressed enmasse.
If you or or friends would like to know about Ayurveda and the use of Ayurvedic principles in the kitchen i would love to post some information here.
We have also decided to import and sell items of daily use such as soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, hair products, beauty products etc. These products are wholly natural and the ingredients and formulas are derived and based on Ayurvedic recipes. Products are manufactured by companies which have a long and established reputation of delivering the highest quality products. We are busy at the moment setting up a website in response to the numerous queries we get. As soon its up and running i will post the address.
Meanwhile do a Google for Satnam Nagarwala & Jagoda Watrak and have a bit of read about our latest activties at the Night of Museums.

Thank you all, peace and happiness be with you !

Namaste, Satyanam-ji -

Tell me - where do you get your fresh coriander leaf from in Poznań (or indeed, other necessary ingredients)? With the Ryanair baggage allowance there's only so much I can bring over to Poland after my bi-monthly shopping expeditions to Southall...

Best, Alex

I'm sitting here and going green with jealousy right now :(

(don't like flying and Berlin is slightly too far to make it worthwhile on a regular basis....)

Believe it or not that's not the only reason I'm in London from time to time ;) I did see some Pataks curry pastes (good ones) in Piotr i Paweł in Galeria Malta, so actually you can get pretty good results here on the ground, but not the kind of finesse Satya no doubt brings to the table :).

Powder spices are virtually weightless and I'm next in London this Thursday. No trip to Southall but the Kentish Town Sainsbury runs it close for the basics.

PM me a wish-list, I'll see what I can work out :)

Dear friends and well wishers, once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible support we receive from all of you !

Please take note that a skeleton website is now operational the address is www.satja.pl

Please take a look and email us your comments. This website is for you and your comments are highly regarded. We just came back from yet another travel and food presentation held at the Ethnological Museum in Poznan, the event was was attended and our guests were taken on a tour of Syria, Lebanon and Jordan !
My wife Jagoda was in charge and the reception was superb. To conclude the event we presented a demonstration on how to make traditional Hummus ( Chick peas and Tahineh dip ) from scratch. By the end of the evening we had only clean plates left, everything was consumed. Bravo ! to the participants and the organisers as well.
There is always something happening at our end, and the next workshop is dedicated to French Cuisine ( this is what happens when one has been cooking for over 30 years :-)

We have recently received a fresh consignment of spices and other goodies from Delhi, and yours for the asking !

Best regards and i will keep you all posted. Don't forget that www.satja.pl is your place for all cooking needs.

Cheers and Na razie !

dear friends once again we are organizing a cooking workshop dedicated solely to the preparation of yummy Indian snacks ! for those of you who have been to India or lived in UK, snacks like Samosas, Bhajia, Tikki, Kachori are an everyday mouthwatering affair.
I remember my childhood in Delhi, when the clock struck 1600, mum would give me a few rupees to go and buy freshly prepared snacks from the local vendors called " Halwaee". These hot tempting snacks were shared jointly by the family over a hot cup of " masala chai "
These snacks were always served with dips and chutneys like mint and yoghurt or sweet tamarind and ginger.
We will recreate this magic of delightful Indian snacks on the 11 of April.

Further information is available at www.satja.pl click on warsztaty and follow the link.

For our admirers in other cities, please take note that during the summer holidays we will conduct a 5 day cooking workshop at our country cottage set amidst a swaying pine tree forest. We are in the final stage of advertising the project, the number of participants is limited to 10 persons and if you are interested please let us know as soon as possible.
You will eat healthy home cooked food, not only Indian as well as Thai and Middle Eastern. There will be some work with Yoga, and other activities. As we are right in the middle of a state forest there are ample opportunities to go for long walks, and see some wildlife. There are some beautiful fresh water lakes for swimming and canoeing nearby. I will post some pictures soon on the website with the final proposal.

best regards and may happiness be to all of you cheers Jagoda and Satyanam

if you really want to dine like a Maharaja just go to M&S in any major Polish city
get yourself a tin of the lamb madras, add a couple of bird's eye chillis

light blue touch paper and stand well back
