Oh man.

Rory... the first thing people are going to do when considering a new teacher will be to google your name. If this comes up (and it will - PF does very well on Google) - what do you think they're going to think?

Rory: market yourself well and you make more money, it's that simple.

Indeed, almost every single one of my students in the past told me that the advertisement attracted them because it was well written.

(and heck, how often are Poles seduced by slick marketing?)

Another good one is to just double your prices. You get fewer students but if you're good you get excellent recommendations and are soon working as much as you would be at lower rates.

I remember doing this one to a school director that I didn't like and couldn't have cared less about - he offered me some work, I quoted him 90zl an hour to go there and it was immediately accepted. Odd, but hey, I wasn't complaining. Strangely enough, I've found that having a car is enough to name your price.

But I guess it's true - if you can't be bothered to get the basics right, who is going to bother with you?

Delphiadomine:

As a self-confessed expert how do you have any time to be on PF?

With your skills I imagine you would be struggling to count your cash and not writing 8,000 + posts on here, no?

Because as an expert, I work ordinary working hours, not ESL slave hours. Let's see, today - I worked from 9-11am, then an hour break to deal with some stuff, then 12pm-4pm. I finish work no later than 5pm, and never start before 9am - normal hours.

With your skills I imagine you would be struggling to count your cash and not writing 8,000 + posts on here, no?

Plenty of people on here earn very good money and yet post on here. What's new?

You might want to do something about this, too:
Native Speaker z Wielkiej Brytanii udzieli korepetycji z
j. angielskiego!!!!!!! Jesli chcesz sprobowac jak to jest rozmawiac i uczyc sie pod okiem Native Speakera to ogloszenie jest dla Ciebie:) 505 xxx xxx

It doesn't exactly radiate professional assurance.
