I have a birth record from 1903 which is written in Russian. The script is difficult and I have not been able to find anyone to translate it in Canada. Can anyone suggest a source to do a certified translation? I need for Polish citizenship purposes.

Thanks very much!

I posted this question to a proffessional genealogist I used. He translated all my records that were in Russian. He wrote back

do not certify the records for obtaining the citizenship - only the
archives/ civil offices can certify such records.

My advice for anybody who tries to apply for Polish citizenship: all
records have to be certified by the proper archive and translated by a
sworn translator.

The 1903 birth record you mention - does he obtain it in one of Polish
archives? Or did he find it at his private archive?

If you like, please ask him to mail me a copy - I'll help him to contact
proper archive.

Kind regards

Thanks very much for your note Emil.

The birth record for my mother was issued by the Polish Archives Pinczow Branch (region Kielce). The birth record has a stamp that includes details about the location of the birth record.

So I think the record has already been certified by the Polish Archives office. My problem is I can't find anyone to translate this birth record from Russian to Polish.

I have written to the email address that you gave and attached a scanned version of my mother's birth record as well as a letter from the Archives office with additional details.

My mother was issued a Polish passport before coming to Canada and I have details which include date and place of issue and number. The archives office say that they cannot find her passport details. I'm not sure if you have any information about searches for passports. Another Polish document for my mother would be very helpful in my request to confirm Polish citizenship.

Thanks again
