Hi there,

i'm sorry to post this as my first thread but i do need some useful informations about how to get a polish licence... I've try to do some research on here but did not found any useful answers about my questions. so that's why i decided to ask it here.

Firstly, i'm swiss and live actually in France! i've got my swiss licence in 2000 and have been banned since 2005 over there. Now, i do live in france and can apply for a french licence but the timescale needed to get a licence there is about 3 months. I cannot pass my licence in switzerland as i'm now a france resident!

The question is : is there someone who can help to pass / get a polish licence and tell me how to proceed as i'm an EU resident and an EEE national!

the money isnt really the problem... the problem is just that i've found a new job over there and need a licence quite quickly! as i'm not a French national i do not need to prove a 6 month residence overseas to drive with an EU licence!

if there is someone who can help there it will be much appreciated!

i've seen on here someone who can maybe help with that kind of problems!

Thanks a lot

Well, I can tell you that it's likely to take more than 3 months to obtain a Polish licence, so there's no point bothering here.

I hear Ukranian driving licences are ridiculously easy to obtain - you might want to investigate that route. But still - I wish you the worst of luck, because if you did something to get banned for over 5 years, you must have done something pretty seriously wrong!

sorry but you missunderstood there!

i've been banned for 12 months because i've been catched at a speed of 132kmh in a 80kmh area!

then during the 12 months of ban, i've moved to france due to work commitments!

then after that and as i'm a france resident, i cannot pass my license in Switzerland again AND even if i do get back my licence in switzerland, i cannot change it anymore to a french one as the delays are just 12months to change to a french one...

shengen had changed this... Too late for me

One good thing about Germans is they don't have a speed limit on the highway, gotta love them for that.

Dont take me like a criminal... anyone already drove faster than it should be...
i live in france and here a lot of polish lads are driving lot over the speed limit... so sorry but i think this kind of driving is a fact that anyone already made..

i'm the quietest driver you can ever imagine on the road... i leave the pleasure of speeding and adrenaline peaks for the tracks where i drive very often as i compete! and now im not 23 anymore...

Does your country you're living in now having an auto club (the equivalent to AAA-American Automobile Association)? At AAA Americans can ask for an International Driving License. Its as easy as paying a small fee and presenting your current driver's license. It's good for 1 year.

Nothing wrong with speeding if the conditions allow, If speed kills then most of Germany would be dead by now,

Anyway forget Poland for getting a licence, Thought about doing it in the UK?

No use without a current licence.

The UK might be the easiest bet, though it depends how organised the useless tossers at the DVLA actually are!

Do a 7 day intensive course, It only took me 6 weeks to pass after my 17th, Licence should come through in about 10 days, Book a theory and then get your practical done.

Surely though if you got a ban then you only need to reapply for your licence?

He *might* run into trouble because he won't have a national insurance number, but then again, I doubt the DVLA would even notice, clueless morons!
