Although I don't need lessons, I wish you all the best and think that 7 pounds is a very reasonable price for an hour. My mother in Scotland was telling me that some charge 30 pounds an hour, that's just ludicrous.

So, good luck and at least you'll be nearer the top of the PF board now :)

Yes Seanus it is really very nice that she charges 7 GBP for an hour. I wonder how much you charge for your lessons in Poland (-:

If you want run a company and pay taxes and you teach for a living - 7 GBP this is just not fair. Not fair is also that when I answer forum members questions telling them about my service Admin called it is spam.
But perhaps this is just free market.

If so,
I do not teach for 7 GBP but I have over ten years experience in teaching Polish, three years I teach via Skype only.

Presently I teach learners from Europe (Poland inclusive), Americas and Australia. What about Asia and Africa. You are all welcome.
Check my details in my profile and visit my website.

7 GBP!!! It is really great offer PolishLessons. I have no chance indeed. This is why I really like Polish people. They can work for almost nothing and they are happy to do it.

Is free market or perhaps dumping (-:

Why not? It's over 30zl an hour - which is better than a Polish teacher will get in a State school. Let's assume a typical British teacher schedule of 30 hours a week - 3600zl before tax and ZUS isn't a bad salary in Poland.

This is a very interesting point for me.
When Polish people want to learn English they go to old good England or do it in Poland and pay for courses much money however they are poor.

If foreigners from the West come to Poland they want to learn Polish as cheap as possible however they have more money. Very interesting but realistic.
This world works so but it does not mean I have to accept it (-: Let me try to make my market a bit better (-:

On the other hand this way of thinking stops development of Polish teaching methodology. Very seldom you can get much for not much (-:
Very many foreigners have really bad experiences with Polish. Not because of Polish itself but very often because of teachers.

in the past some people went on courses in good old england. often while there they were looking for work.

now english language in schools is better... plus there are so many native speakers and english language schools that no-one bothers to go on a course in the uk.

the only reason for going to england is work/better life... improving english language comes with the job.

Depending on your needs l I can provide you with documents that are helpful when learning grammar/vocab or we can concentrate on conversational Polish practice if that's what you expect of me... As I said please contact me for more details. Every student I teach is different and has different needs and expectations. I offer a very personal approach towards you but I need you to tell me what you want of me first. I hope that helps :)

I really don't know how much money you expect to earn from sitting on your ass and teaching a language that is native to you. Perhaps the difference between me and you is that I genuinely like teaching and helping people while you just want money. So yes, you are right. I AM happy to do it and I don't think I do it for nothing either. £7 pounds is both reasonable and affordable. There are three levels of minimum wage in the UK, and the rates from 1 October 2009 are:

£5.80 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older
a development rate of £4.83 per hour for workers aged 18-21 inclusive
£3.57 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, who are no longer of compulsory school age

How can you write something like this being a professional teacher.

You do not have to respect me but
Respect yourself and your profession.

I teach Polish over ten years at univesities private schools and finally runnig own bussines.
I met many teachers for whom teaching Polish is just
PolishLessons:
sitting on your ass and teaching a language that is native to them

I do not like you.

One more thing I know many people in Poland do not understand it. You say
PolishLessons:
I genuinely like teaching and helping people while you just want money.

Sometimes I like teaching sometimes not but I allways deliver good quality service.
It has nothing to do with my or you good or bad heart.
I wonder how many people you taught (nauczyłaś nie uczyłaś) Polish succesfully. I really wonder.

You do not respect your profession. I do not like it.

I studied 5 years Polish Filology at Jagiellonian University
I did vocational course for teachers of Polish for foreigners.
I taught Polish at the Jagiellonian Unversities
I worked two years as a Polish teacher at university in Germany
I worked for language schools in Poland and Germany.
I have dosens of refereces letters of my clients
I worked as a teacher for a few biggest European comapnies and diplomats
I invented my own teaching method to teach online and I am about to finish a coursebook based on it.

Hm, you really think it is
PolishLessons:
sitting on your ass

If you start to respect yourself and your profession then you will understand
that minimum UK wages do not have to be your point of reference.

I you behave professionally I will compete with you with pleasure

Sorry for my but I really do not like when people do not respect my profession (-:
Even if they have big and good hearts.

Imagine Polish does not have to mean worse and cheaper!
