"Palichenka"?

Help:

My friend has been very ill, and the only think she yearns to eat. Is "Palichenka" (sp) that her "Bubby" use to make.

Can anyone tell me what it is and how to make it?

I'm afraid there is no such word in Polish (palichenka). If you could find out how to write it that would be more helpful ;).

Palichenka is actually spelled PALACINKE and is a serbian breakfast dish. It is also known as crepes. It's slang term means " a poorman's pancake " or "peasant cakes". The plain recipe is.....2 cups of flour.....2 cups of milk......2 eggs.......2 tbsp sugar......2 tbsp veg. oil........Mix all ingredients well and let it sit the frig. over night. When you make them the next day oil your frying pan well and get it very hot. Pour batter in the pan like a pancake. The batter should spread around the pan so it is nice and thin. Just cook it like a pancake!!!!! I have lots of Serbian recipes as well as Polish.....Enjoy

Well in polish it would be Nalesniki... which is pretty much the same thing but we eat them for dinner instead of breakfast... with cottage cheese and raisins well my family does i don't know if any other polish family does... lol!!

Yeah we had them for dinner as well. For a change mum would grate green apples into the mix. When ready sprinkle sugar roll up & eat. Very nice eaten cold as well.

I am going to make the batter tonight, and make them in the morning and take them when I visit her tomorrow. Should I roll them or fold them?

With what and how are they generaly served, rolled with sugar? folded and sprinkeled w powdered sugar?

rolling them is proper. You can put what ever filling she likes in there. I like butter and syrup, but prune butter is good or apricot, again whatever you like. you can never be wrong with this dish..

My GF makes them with strawberries. Very tasty

The above two topped w sour cream 7 egg and baked.

Her favorites: the apricot/peach & the farmers cheese, sugar and egg

Her kids ate the chocolate with whip cream.

my gramma serves them with nitell inside or jam.
& thyre good with liek a sweet cheese inside.
