Hi there,
sorry, I'm not about to study in Poland. I hope you have a wonderful and educational time.
During my studies I was a member (briefly a board member of a local chapter in The netherlands even) of a european students union, AEGEE, which has chapters all over Europe, and during a summer exchange program where I ended up in Macedonia (FYROM), Skopje, I met a few Polish students. Sadly, I lost contact.
I would love to renew contacts with people from AEGEE in Poland (even though I am no longer in college), so if you happen to stumble across a chapter at your place of study i would very much appreciate if you could drop me a note.
If you are interested in student unions (here comes the promo talk) I can highly recommend AEGEE. At the time I was in college, there were about 275 chapters all over Europe, and chapters plan all sorts of events and parties during the year. You can apply for AEGEE events in other cities and other countries even and everything is low budget. During the holidays you can apply for summer universities (chapters all over Europe set up programs, varying from educational, like learning a language or learn more about different cultures, to lying on a beach somewhere doing nothing).
I went on summer university in FYROM, to AEGEE-Skopje, together with 25 students from all over Europe, and we were shown around by students the Chapter AEGEE-Skopje, who showed us around musea and all sorts of cultural things during the day, followed by the wildest parties in the evenings and nights.
I would love to renew contacts with members from other countries, hopefully the ones i met then, but I also want to recommend this incredible experience with someone who is about to start college.
If you reply, put something like AEGEE in the subject line. I have been receiving tons of spam ever since i registered for this forum.
regards,
Jan
